Should the democrats distance themselves from Hollywood?

Pretty much. Any republican who is worried about democratic impropriety along the lines of “Fuck Trump” is pretty clearly being disingenuous or incredibly hypocritical, as if they cared about that level of impropriety, one would imagine they would not have voted for or continued to support the man accused of sexual assault 18 times who bragged about being able to grab women by the pussy and who paid hush money to a porn star he cheated on his wife with.

The Democrats can’t afford to distance themselves from Hollywood. Hollywood gives them too much money, attention, and propaganda support. It would be like the GOP abandoning the NRA.

I’m torn between:

“God forbid celebrities have opinions,” and

“God forbid they share those opinions when someone is listening.”

Or maybe it’s “God forbid anyone say anything that Gyrate doesn’t find ‘constructive’.”

.

How about “God forbid celebrities do the presenting jobs they’re up on stage to do and just read the damn prompters rather than interrupting the show to insert their own impromptu editorials”. They have plenty of other opportunities to talk to the press or express their views over social media.

Or Trump abandoning Russia. Just ain’t gonna happen.

Only Republicans practice sodomy. Democrats just have butt sex.

Conservative: Liberals ought to breathe air that contains oxygen…

That analogy with Hollywood doesn’t really work. One is a vast, corrupt, ideologically rigid oligarchy seeking to extend its influence over the world, and the other is run by Putin.

Or maybe “whatever you do, Br’er Fox, don’t throw me into that briar patch!”

I will have to disagree with your last line.

No, they dont “run” the party.

But, they do do alot of fundraisers for the party and make appearances at conventions and stoop for candidates. For example Hillary had Beyonce headlining her rallies.

HERE is an article discussing celebrities who either donated to democratic candidates or hosted fundraisers in their homes.

Better idea: make a movie about an issue they care about. Gotta admit this is what Micheal Moore did.

The main reason that it doesn’t work is that celebrities are bound by campaign finance laws, and Putin is not.

According to this, Hollywood raised $5 million of the $1 billion spent by Clinton in the 2016 campaign.

On the other hand, Trump personally made $50 million — according to himself – by selling it to a Russian oligarch who is under “sanctions not sanctions” for Russian election meddling, and was arrested for murdering his business partner.

But maybe that’s just me, going on another witch hunt.

Isn’t that between them and their employers?

You’re crediting conservatives with way too much intelligence.

It is. And I’m not starting a campaign to insist that they stop or getting my pet media to spread stories about how they are being disrespectful to the flag and veterans and puppies by doing so and secretly love illegal aliens. I just find it really fucking annoying.

As a man who shares a first name with Mr. Moore, I implore you to learn how to spell “Michael.”

Here’s a handy reference guide for you to consult on occasions when it gives you trouble:

M I C H A E L

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You’re both crediting radicals (of the reactionary persuasion) with being conservatives.

As if there are actual conservatives in the Republican party anymore. They’ve all been purged by the fascists or they’re kowtowing to them out of fear.

Trump has up to 90% approval in the Republican party. And he’s not even close to the line. The rest of the party is arguably crazier. There is only one Republican Party. And it hasn’t changed in decades, except to become more overt.
