Show us your Jack o'Lantern!

Galeux d’Eysines Pumpkin, actually.

It translates as “Embroidered with scabs from Eysines” and it originated from Eysines, France.

Supposedly one of the best tasting squash, we look forward to roasting it!

I think I’ll have to go get one to roast later. I’ve never tried it.

My daughter finished her pumpkins.

Super cute painted pumpkins. Love the carved and lit ones too.

Here’s a painting my youngest did in high school. The art dept auctioned it off and my kid wouldn’t let me submit a bid!

So the principal won and hung it up in the school and I took this picture of it.

I haven’t carved a pumpkin in a few years might have to this year.

Quite the talented artist!

No orange pumpkins available here, but I bought a couple and spraypainted them orange so I could carve them with my kids, aged 8 & 6.

They did the design, I did the cutting, they did the scooping out seeds, and they got to do some extremely supervised spraypainting.

I took terrible pictures, so had to apply loads of filters just to make them look like Jack o’Lanterns. But the kids loved it.

Also it was my first and second attempt at carving any vegetable,

FWIW, pumpkin skin is not an ideal substrate for spraypainting, maybe I should have lightly sanded the surface. I dunno. Aside from the Beck song ‘Loser’ i have not heard of anyone else spraypainting vegetables.

Finally got around to doing this years’.
