I’m sure I’m not the only one who makes a habit of seeing an interesting link and opening it in a new tab to read later. The internet being what it is, though, this sometimes leads to the opening of a large number of tabs about a wide variety of strange things. Oftentimes, I’ll follow a link (particularly from these very forums) without knowing exactly what it is, then I’ll stumble across it later and wonder where on earth it came from. I’d like for that sort of thing to happen more often, so I thought I’d ask the dope this question: What random amusing or interesting things do you have open in tabs besides this one, right this very second?
It might be fun to include an explanation of what the link is only in a spoiler box, because mysterious interesting things are always more fun to find later. The URL sometimes provides hints, of course. However, perhaps that mystery is not such a good idea with things that contain audio.
From my current Firefox window, I have two offerings.
…which is a rather silly list of autological words, from wikipedia - that is, words that describe themselves, like ‘word’ or ‘pentasyllabic’.
- This video link of Stephen Fry getting angry with a salad. WARNING that this is very mildly NSFW - it contains a modest amount of extremely hilarious swearing (Damn and blast this cocking cucumber!). Nothing visually questionable though - if you’ve got headphones, you’re fine.
So, show us what you’ve got. With a bit of luck this thread can become a doper-centric version of stumble-upon, only without any features.
