I do that all the time. I’ll read something on a page, think “I should look further into that” and open a new tab, then as I’m waiting for it to appear, quickly flick over to another open tab, or respond to an IM, or whatever, and that’s that - completely forgotten what I opened the extra tab for.
It is a hazard that, the older we get, the more information is available to us to process, and yet the more absent-minded we become.
