Shows you Bailed on

I stopped watching Orange is the New Black halfway through the second season. I wasn’t feeling love for the Red Vs (New Black Woman) Showdown and Piper’s Boring-Ass Relationship Issues that was taking up much of the time. I “intend” to finish it out yet but, again, the fact that I haven’t yet probably says something.

Blacklist

House of Cards (loved season 1 and 2; Frank was so much more interestting before he bcame president)

Breaking Bad

Grimm

Luther

Same here, but I’m pretty sure it was the season before. I just forgot to set the DVR and then never bothered to rectify it. I occasionally will watch it if its on while I am channel surfing.
Blacklist I’m bailing on now. I binged season 1 on Netflix. Watched Season 2 up until the mid-season break. Eventually watched the two part return and haven’t had any desire to pick it back up. I liked the overall plot, but I don’t care much for the individual episodes.

I’ll give “Last Man on Earth” the whole season. I do still manage to laugh out loud about 3 times per episode but overall, the show is hard to like now.

I’m not telling you that it is the best show ever but the things you complained about did get better before the end of the 1st season.

At what point did you bail on Breaking Bad? That’s one show I felt stayed very strong all the way through.

Funny thing is my wife kept up with Agents of SHIELD and she still watches it. She also said it got better but I guess I was beyond the point of no return.

FWIW I think Gotham and Agents of SHIELD have both gotten much more interesting in the last couple months.

Shows I have recently given up on are NCIS and Big Bang Theory. NCIS just got too repetitive, they occasionally had a different sort of story arc but they always fell flat for me. Big Bang Theory is now less about nerdly things and more about relationships, I just quit caring at some point.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Greys Anatomy yet. Or did none of you ever watch it in the first place? Every time they get a character on there I like they kill him or her off. Derek was the last one. Now if I can just get my wife to bail on it too. :dubious:

I stopped watching Grey’a Anatomy when whiny-assed Meredith refused to die after jumping into the river. Season one or Two? First they steal an organ and “for love” and their punishment is to plan a party and then that sef-centered biotch jumps into the river during a city wide emergency and didn’t have the decency to die.

I didn’t mention it because there were more recent shows I’ve bailed on.

Yep.

Wow, so many people hate Grimm. I’m glad I never wasted my time watching that one.

I forgot I gave up on Grimm. I thought it was great for a season or two, but at some point it just lost my interest. Probably the long midseason break.

Here’s the flip side, if you’ll indulge me:

Selfie: watched the first episode, hated every minute of it. The next week, I’m at the computer, the wife is watching it, I’m half listening in, I had 3 or 4 good laughs. The week after, I’m only just barely “at” the computer, had half a dozen solid chuckles. By the sixth or seventh week, screw the computer, I’m in front of The Tube. Somehow, it hit its stride in just about every department: the female lead (the red-head) and the Asian guy started to click, the supporting cast was moving into the foreground, the boss was putting me on the floor, the stories were getting more cohesive. I knew there was no way it would go more than 2 full seasons, but I couldn’t wait to see where it was heading.

Yep, it’s cancelled.

It seems almost all shows are only good for a season or two. It’s kind of a novelty if it makes it through three and with its viewers intact. …Anyway, I’ll probably still forgo Grimm. I’m already watching Once Upon a Time, so that’s about all the fantasy I can take for right now. I know a lot of people gave up on OUAT as well, but I still love it…actually I’m kind of obsessed with it. :o:D sheepish laugh

I think the ‘midseason break’ thing is crap and a huge reason why people lose interest in shows. It almost made me not finish the first season of Sleepy Hollow.

Arrow was supposed to be “passable” until the techy girl joined the team, and then it was supposed to really take off and get great, according to what people were saying here.

I watched it, didn’t care about much of anything except the small parts that featured the Island from LOST. But yeah, it was overall passable. Then it started to get stupid. Then they introduced the techy girl and the show went from the occasional dip in the stupid to running out to the great, vast ocean of mind-numbing stupidity, rented a boat, spent all their gas to motor and strand themselves in the middle, and jumped in headfirst.

Very rarely do I bale on a show until I’ve at least hit a season end, but the stupid was too great for me.

Supernatural, Fringe, Warehouse 13. Shows that I should have loved but something about them just made me stop caring that much - when they were ‘monster-of-the-week’ shows they were a lot of fun but once a major story arc started up I quit. Maybe **X-Files ** and it’s never-ending conspiracy arc soured me on them.

The Mentalist once Red John went from a solitary serial-killer to a secret society - nope, I’m out.

The Battlestar Galactica reboot. I think I got to the midseason break of the final season and realised that it was never going to have a satisfying ending and bailed. I did eventually read the plot from it’s wiki entry and don’t regret my decision.

Glee. The first two seasons were great, the third just okay. It was clear from the third season that the show was rapidly declining, and the word on subsequent seasons was so poor that we just didn’t bother.

Modern Family. I gave up near the end of last season, because it just wasn’t very good anymore. Watching reruns, I have come to believe it was never really as good as I’d thought, a few good jokes here and there (usually involving Luke) but overall, seeing it more than once a week really shows how it doesn’t hold up.

I rewatched the whole series since, but when it first aired I ended up fizzling out on Heroes. The first season is great in my opinion, but by the final season was just nuts. Shame, because I always thought Heroes had great potential.

I bailed on Gotham after the first episode, just wasn’t interested.

Watched one episode of Outlander and decided it wasn’t for me. Watched half of The Missing and gave up after I was starting to feel jerked around.

Haven’t bailed yet, but probably will soon: Agents of SHIELD, Sleepy Hollow (if they renew it and the new storyline doesn’t look interesting), Vikings (same). I was going to bail on Falling Skies but since they’ve announced the next season will be the last I might as well finish it up.

I did the same thing, couldn’t get engaged in it. Then I went back later and watched and found it hilarious as anything else the show has done.
