I was just looking to see how many other people have given up on “The Americans” and apparently I am the only one. No one else has found the number of random murders committed by these two while living across the street from the FBI guy who is often investigating them and the secretary who has committed illegal acts on behalf of the husband that she never sees just a little too unbelievable to sustain interest?
I forgot about Falling Skies. Have to add it to my list. Watched the first two seasons before bailing.
…I went through the same progression. I thought the pilot was terrible, and felt sorry for both Amy Pond and Sulu. But each subsequent episode got better and better and I was loving it at the end. Sad it wasn’t renewed.
I lost track of it but recently started back up on Amazon Prime. It’s not at the top of my list but I catch a couple episodes here and there.
A cocaine body cast? :D:D Should Homeland Security be alerted?
Wait, are you saying she’s British? Well, double success for her, I never would have guessed. Not a Dr. Who watcher (except for Billie Piper; WOOF!)
Same for (the actor who plays) Sulu. He’s better than Chris Pine in those ST movies. He was a definite highlight in that Matthew Perry series a while back. Someone to watch.
Didn’t exactly bail, but purposely put on DVR because of the plethora of annoying ads: Louie and “Dig”. Both seem to have hit that untenable ratio of ads outweighing content.
I almost pity the writers of shows like Dig. They build momentum into the story, the actors do their thing, the music builds, there’s a certain pace going on, then - boom - it cuts to a series of ads that goes on so long, the whole thing is just sort of deflated.
Yeah, that show never recovered from that fucking writers strike, just limped on for a few years.
I stopped watching **Fringe **before the end of season one despite thinking Walter was about the best mad scientist on tv.
There was a silly episode about a virus running around under peoples chairs.
Skipped season 2. Caught an episode of season three and regretted bailing on it.
Not too sure if watching a few episodes is considered “bailing”, but to each his own.
Watched all but the last season of The Sopranos. Enjoyed them, was interested in the characters, but for some reason never started the final season. I even bought them, but still have yet to watch them.
I love The Sopranos, but to be honest, I hated the last season.
I wouldn’t bother watching it.
I bailed on Breaking Bad towards the end of season 2/beginning of season 3.
Then picked back up into season 4 and watched (and enjoyed) until the end.
Archer makes me very sad.
I found it to be one of the funniest and entertaining shows through season 3.
Then season 4 got to be a bit over the top with certain aspects of the individual characters getting played too hard.
Then the Vice season, which was just bad. The characters lost all the charm they previously had and shouting started to replace any attempt at humor.
Then we have this season, which I have watched a few episodes of. It really seems all the characters just yell back and forth. There is no subtlety. There is no charm. It’s like all the humor and cleverness has been hollowed out. Blech.
Haven’t bailed on any shows we’ve watched long term recently, but some are coming really, really close. We’re up to a full season backlog in a few cases.
Among the new show this year, we bailed after watching several episodes of State of Affairs and How to Get Away With Murder.
When the new episodes of The Comeback came out, we tried watching the original series on VoD. Bailed after just one episode.
Bloodline.
So sad. Too bad. So much fine talent wasted on such a hunk of junk.
The only interesting thing about this show was the great puzzlement wondering just who would ever have wanted it to be renewed for a second season.
It was just such a waste of time and space. Oh my gosh! How very sad that such a product was ever permitted to be brought to the screen. Oh dear. So very sad.
I watched the first episode, all the subsequent episodes and I have just recently watched the last episode of The Mentalist. Never liked it much but doggedly stuck with it to the bitter end.
I thought the character of Patrick Jane (as portrayed by Simon Baker) was good enough to sustain a show plus I thought the “Deadpan Snarker” Kimball Cho (as portrayed by Tim Kang) was excellent.
I thought the rest of the crew were pretty useless and the whole Red John storyline was dreadful.
But you watch hoping the show would improve after a while. Then it becomes a habit. Then you get vaguely interested in whether they will identify Red John and whether it is anyone interesting… It wasn’t.
Then you wonder whether the show will improve once Red John is genuinely gone… It didn’t.
TCMF-2L
**Falling Skies
The Following
Zero Hour** (by accident)
**Pushing Daisies **(also by circumstance)
**Halt and Catch Fire
The Americans
Once Upon A Time**
The distinction with the accident/circumstance modifiers is something weird happened with the program schedule, and I missed the rest of the series when they resumed.
I’m thinking about bailing on this thread. The first page and part of the second were good but it just started getting so repetitive.
I may have missed it but has anybody mentioned Dexter yet?
I really like the show but for some reason kinda faded away around the time all the drama in the swamp was going on (don’t wanna spoiler anything).
What? No mention of the dreadful Season 2 of ST:TNG?
I’m considering bailing on “Arrow”. I love the story line, but don’t enjoy the implementation. I thought the guest appearance on “The Flash” said it all … Felicity: “…the mood and the brood”. Not to say I don’t mind some drama, what I don’t like in the “Arrow” is how repetitive it all is, even within a single episode. Oliver will have a conversation with John and then have the same conversation with Thea and then the same conversation with Felicity. I get it, your torn over having to keep a secret to keep somebody safe, get on with it.
Also… lose the flashbacks. They stopped being interesting when they stopped being on the island. I now fast forward through the flashbacks. I’m pretty certain I’m not missing anything.
It makes me quite sad to bail on this show because again I really enjoy the plot line.
Oh well, I have “Gotham”, “The Flash”, “Daredevil” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (plus more coming) for my geeky TV fix.
