Shrimp and Crab garlic salad

OK, so I’m feeling experimental. I have some shrimp and crab meat. I have made some garlic mayo and I’m going to throw it all into a bowl.

What other good things can I throw in to add to the experience?

A dash of Old Bay?

That could work - but alas, I can’t find the old bay. I was sure I had some, but if so, it is hiding.

I thought about bacon bits, but am not 100% sure that will work - and I don’t want to ruin the rest of the food.

You’ll need a little crunch; finely sliced green onions, or shallots for a more refined taste. A hit of lemon juice. Smoked paprika if you’ve got it.

Lemon juice was in the garlic mayo recipe. Onions are a good idea.

So far, just what I had is good.

If it were my partner asking that question, I’d suggest Beano. Even with Beano, that sandwich sounds like it would make my life hell about three hours later. And that’s if HE ate it.

Celery?

Salad, not sandwich. :smack:

It’s only my dog here - and she doesn’t care at all.

A tasty salad for your ingredients:

•1/2 lb. rotini pasta
•8 oz. frozen shelled, deveined cooked small shrimp (sometimes called salad shrimp), thawed
•1 red bell pepper, chopped
•1 green bell pepper, chopped
•1 yellow or orange bell pepper, chopped
•3/4 cup sliced green onions
•1/2 cup finely chopped celery
•1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
•2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
•2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
•1/2 teaspoon salt
•1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
•16 oz. cooked crab claw meat
•1 1/2 cups garlic mayonnaise
•1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Directions

1.Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water according to package directions; drain.

2.Place pasta in large bowl. Add all remaining salad ingredients except crabmeat, garlic mayo, and lemon juice. Stir to combine.

3.Add the garlic mayo, lemon juice to salad; toss to combine. Add crabmeat; stir gently to combine. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

Enjoy

Add diced chives, red onions, or shallots, and a package of cream cheese in addition to a dollop or 2 of your mayo, a dash of worchester sauce, maybe a little horseradish and a little lemon juice.

Heat it all up until bubbly and serve with baugette bread or anything else to dip with.

Call it your special crab dip and you will be requested to provide it at every party you are invited too thereafter.

Avocado would be nice.
