I have to believe that a pet store doesn’t want a franchise owner who treats animals like [F. Scott Fitzgerald] does from your claims. Well, I really want to believe that; I know pet stores aren’t always as ethical as I would like.
Urbani is the founder. However, I find it hard to believe even one store is like that in such a large chain. Too many people would see the problems and would report it to corporate rather than some random message board.

Because it is such a horrible story, it might be better to wait for some more authoritative sources to show up before propagating the story.

OP you should totally try to find poster Satyricon because he also didnt like Petcetera and he had some rats and got bad treatment for the rats and they had pine bedding and thats really bad for rats and their were 2 rats and Satyricon hasnt posted for over 9 years so who knows maybe he got shoot by a turkey or eaten by his hungry rats

I am speaking on behalf of everyone that has ever worked for that company i was only an assistant manager there for 6 months but just in that short amount of time that company shared a little to much information with me [hate you so much] the regional manager had told me just one week before i quit that their new rule i should be enforcing is if any of the animals dont get fed withing that 30 min time they give us to open in the morning they do NOT get fed at all for that day or cleaned or watered I called the humane society on them and when they got there they told me that with their 17 years of experience checking out pet stores they haven’t seen any pet store as bad as petcetera they took most of their animals including 2 baby ferrets that were so dehydrated they didn’t even have enough energy to get up and drink anything they had a total of 52 dead hamsters and birds that most had eaten themselves because they were so hungry and the other half had been stepped on or killed by [you so] commands and to make things worse if anyone wanted to complain to them about it or even try and help the animals get food or water they either got fired or threatened within 6 months of me being their they went through 3 managers 6 keyholders and 31 cashiers all because they either didnt get paid for months or got fired because they wanted to feed the animals and now their new manager [much DMC there are] fresh of the boat from turkey is helping to enforce the death of these animals and is even encouraging customers not to buy because they are all useless we had a lady bring in 6 kittens 2 weeks before i left and gave them to [so] she said she couldn’t find any homes for them and she found them in a box outside our store so [many] decides to call [damn] and surprise people [TAGS] orders were to dump them out so [in this post] took them to the garbage shoot and luckily i was there to stop him i took the kittens to my moms and found them homes this is just a short story on how evil and inhumane this company is I could go on for days on things ive witnessed but i think this should be more then enough i am encouraging everyone to join this cause and stop petcetera from all their crimes
