Sidekicks who would've been great on other shows

Suppose for a moment that instead of the doddering, taciturn Alfred the Butler, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson on Batman had been attended by the super-efficient, always reliable Jane Hathaway from the Beverly Hillibillies. Or if Buffy’s guide to slaying vampires had been, instead of Rupert Giles, Roz Doyle from Frasier?

What other TV series dynamics would have been more interesting with a different sidekick?

Dean Winchester (Supernatural) hunts down ghosts and demons with the help of his newly discovered, long lost half-brother, Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory).

The personality clash would put the Odd Couple to shame, especially with them being stuck in the car together.

If Xena’s sidekick had been Rhoda Morganstern…

No.

Replace Jayne on Firefly with Lord Bowler (Julius Carey) from The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Hello, Newman…

Kryten from Red Dwarf gets transported into the Futuramaverse, and Bender takes his place on Red Dwarf

Imagine the reaction Bender would have to Rimmer trying to order him around…, I think he’d become fast freinds with Lister though, Lister’d be quite appreciative of his new drinkin’ buddy, and I’d bet Bender would get quite the taste for curries and other Indian cuisine

Lister would probably miss ol’ novelty-condom-head though

Kryters would quite happily fit right in with the Planet Express crew, and I’m sure they’d appreciate a robotic entity that didn’t have quite the galaxy-sized ego as Bender, they wouldn’t ever need to buy a Robot 1-X…

On a slightly more evil bent, imagine the Cat slipstreaming into the Buffyverse, with his prominent fangs, he’d have to do some really quick talking to prove to Buffy that he wasn’t one of the Undead…

Every Which Way But Loose:

Clyde (the ogangutan) replaced with Sigmund the Seamonster.

Oddly enough, the actor who played The Cat did guest star on an episode of Buffy.

However, it was actually Hinton Battle, who played The Cat in the failed American pilot. He was the singing demon in “Once More With Feeling”.

If he really wanted to take over the world, it should have been “Sheldon Cooper & the Brian”

Tim Conway and anyone, on any show, ever.

Lenny Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) never got the partner he deserved on “Law and Order.” He needed Barney Fife.

Let’s see… the USS Enterprise needs whole new crew.

Jim Kirk? Out. The Skipper, from “Gilligan’s Island,” in.

Dr. McCoy? Out. Doc Bricker, from “The Love Boat,” in.

Science officer Spock? Out. Steve Urkel, in.

You’ll take the Enterprise from Jim Kirk when you can pry it from his cold, dead, hands…or something.

But Spock? He’s gone. Replaced by Deputy Festus from Gunsmoke.

We’ll send Spock back to Dodge City to work for Marshall Dillon to maintain symetry in the cosmos.
