I have another probably simple computer question.
Our home e-mail, from a internet service provider, got hacked. Somehow a spoof account was set up, linked somehow to the gmail account which I access on my acer chromebook.
So I want to change my password, but all I can find searching is the screen access to my chromebook. Is that the same as my gmail password?
I am so confused.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Go into Gmail.
Click the Gear symbol
usually in the upper Right Corner.
Under Quick Settings choose See all settings
On the menu line of settings click Accounts and Import.
Now you should see Change Password and Change Password recovery options.
Thanks! That worked. I never would have found it.
The Chromebook is great for my needs, mainly textual stuff, not videos or games, but its controls are very non-intuitive, to my techno-peasant mind. I poked around and googled for help for about half an hour before starting this thread, and @What_Exit pointed me to the answer in under 5 minutes.
Thanks for the reminder to do some password changing. I should do it more often.
mmm
Also updated my 2-factor authentication on different accounts, including bank accounts.
