Signature Line

My signature line doesn’t show. Do I have something turned off that I need on? Oh geez, after 6 months I just found it down there!

Are you remembering to check the “show signature” box? You have to do this every time you want to use it. The reason “show” isn’t the default is given in the second part of this quote from the ATMB thread FAQ - guidelines for posting at the SDMB:

How long can my profile signature be?
Your signature should not be more than 4 lines in length when the browser window is seen on an average size monitor. If your signature is deemed too long, then a staff member may ask you to change it and/or change it for you.

How many times should I include my signature in a thread?
Once per thread should be sufficient for people to admire the pearl of wisdom included in your signature. If you post multiple times in a thread it is recommended that you only include the signature in one of your posts.

If you’re not seeing anybody’s sig, you probably have “Show Signatures” turned off. Click on the “User CP” button on the top of any SDMB page. Then click on “Edit Options”. On that page, under “Thread View Options”, you will see “Show user’s signatures in their posts?” Make sure you have yes selected.
