You hear people arguing, and you tell them to take it to the Pit.
I must be immumne, I still suggest a deathmatch as the mediation tool of choice.
Someone want to explain this whole concept of “…spending too much time on the Dope?”
You seem to indicate that this is a bad thing.
Cite?
Here I am at a BBQ at a friends place, and I had to check my threads on The Dope.
[Martha Stewart]
And that’s a very good thing.

I’ve done this too, only without the muttering about hamsters. It did take me awhile to figure out why my italics weren’t working though.
Good thread.
I’m sorry to say (not) that cite?, hampsters, and fucktard have all worked themselves into my so called real life.
This place rocks.
This morning I passed a cow-orker in the hall. He said, “Hey, laina, what’s the good word?” I said, “Cromulant.” He actually stopped in his tracks, looked puzzled, and said, “I’m not familiar with that word.”
Ha! Fucktard! I love that one!
I’ll use that more oftnen for sure… now where is that thread so I can add this to the list…
Heh… On more than one occasion I’ve been doing HTML coding and found myself using [ and ] instead of < and >.
I do catch myself saying “Cite?” quite a bit and have also suggested that people disagreeing with each other “take it to the Pit”.
Another vote for bursting out “cite?” I was in Wal-mart yesterday and some dumbard employee was telling a customer that all dog foods are the same. I couldn’t help myself. CITE?
I’m actually starting to believe that “Cite?” is a perfectly valid way of asking someone to back up what they say with proof!
Another thing: I am often tempted to say “Your mileage may vary”… makes sense doesn’t it?
