Silent Radio text

Why do the letters in this medium look “slanted” as they silde from one end of the screen to the other? Is this caused by some eye reflex, or whatever?

Are you talking about those LED signs that show text scrolling by?

It’s because of the redraw algorithm. THe “screen” is redran from the bottom up, or top down, so the lower (or higher) pixels are shifted earlier. If the refresh rate is slow enough, your brain might interpret some portion of the screen as having been shifted before the rest of it., i.e., depending on the refresh rate your eye might interpret the letters as being slanted when they move. I notice this is not the case with all of these devices. They must have different refresh rates or algorithms.
