The drummers from CCR and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not only do they resemble each other with their long hair, long beard, and very tall, but they also have similar personalities. Doug Clifford went by the name ‘Cosmos’ and Artemis Pyle is similar. Both were drummers in the '70s for short-lived but successful bands and had very basic, but effective.
The bass players in the Beatles and Wings are strikingly similar except that the one in the Beatles would never write “Wild Life”.
Burke Shelley of Budgie played bass and looked similar to Geddy Lee.
He was too busy writing Honey Pie (not to mention Wild Honey Pie.)
Trivia: John plays the (very short) jazzy guitar solo.
Maybe it’s really obvious, maybe not, and maybe I’m being whooshed (most likely) but Will isn’t exactly drumming all those parts – or at least the sounds that come out of the drums don’t match what is being played in many parts.
Ha…I was joking about the both being excellent drummers. I assume it was Questlove playing the parts while Will acted like he was playing (they zoomed in on his face mostly). I would guess Will can play since he seems to mostly get it, but probably like I can play guitar. Good enough for my own amusement but nothing to go out on tour with
Oh, he clearly looks like he does know how to play drums. He knows where to be on the kit, and mimes it pretty well in the skit, but lacks the ease and fluidity of motion I see in excellent drummers. I’m sure he can hold his own in a bar band or something like that.
Given that Animal is a fictional character and fashioned after the real-life Moon, I don’t think it counts.
Keith Moon can’t be imitated… One of the greats, and drove The Who sound. Listen to the albums after - they stink.
