There’s a LunaSea here, but I don’t know that we’ve ever been mistaken for each other.
A while back I was considering changing my screen name to Artemisia. The very_next_day I log in and see “Welcome to our newest member: Artemis!” and I think, well, hell.
I’m still thinking of changing my screen name. But I ain’t saying to what, yet, just in case.
I love the Kricket, Wikket thing and I think it is pretty cool that we are both from Iowa.
I never thought about the double k thing but it’s spelled with a K since my given name is spelled with a K.
Either name I use (Kricket or Kristine) causes confusion in spelling.
“First name please”
“Kristine with a K”
Or
“Kricket with a K”
Otherwise people just start it with a C.
I originally signed on as Katt, but when I saw Kat, and that a few people had obviously mistaken a couple of my posts for hers, I changed it to the current. KimKatt was chosen in haste, unfortunately… I could have chosen better, and am still flirting with the idea of changing it yet again. But it’s so darned confusing when user names get changed.
Really? I would have thought that our names were dissimilar enough to (from?) each other… oh well. At least it’s not like I’m Flymistress or Flygirl or something!
The 2 lola posters have confused me for the past week. I used to read maeglin and channel melin, but that’s not likely to happen anymore. While a newbie, I’d combine UncleBeer and BeerUser, but neither of them post very much now. I also know them apart now. Put me in the Gaudere/Gadarene camp, too. Also, so many -girl, or -grrl posters. Sue Dunhym, I’ll never mistake you for another poster (ducklips) :).
I sometimes flinch when I see sfosky, since dopers occasionally call me stocky.
…and Quasimodem, how the hell does that become Qadgop T M? That’s just sloppy reading (I realise QTM posted the observation - Not calling QTM sloppy, just never made that connection). Hijack - whenever I see one of your posts, I am reminded of a band I used to be in, the QuasiModals. Five surf guitars and and a bad drummer. That was BEFORE I formed the Apes of Wrath.
Well, I was gonna use RJKOldFatAndUgly but it seemed to long to type.
I will admit to doing a double take now and then when I see a post by rjk. Good thing we’re both erudite gentlemen who would never shame the illustrious initials.
Although I don’t know about this “Bob” stuff. Clearly an RJK should be a “Richard”.
