Simpsons 3/9

Comic Book Guy. Usually there’s at least one person who comes into the weekly Simpsons thread to declare it the “Worst. Episode. Ever.” Possibly one of the most overused (and annoying) SDMB practices around.

[li]No it’s not.[/li][li]This is…[/li][li]Hi Opal![/li][/ol]

I did say “one of” with that specifically in mind, Amp.

The plot bothered me. They only wanted Krusty to run because they were sure he could win, right? Why was it so important for Krusty, and not the Democrat, to win? Was the Democrat opposed to the airport routing bill? Did the Simpsons bother to ask him his position on the issue?

Is Krusty still illiterate?

Also, does it seem that there are more boob jokes this season that in the previous dozen years of “The Simpsons”?

I thought it was one of the funniest episodes in a while. Favorite lines:

“I’ve had this dream before.”

“Russian hooker. Your call.”

It appeared to be the real Dracula to me. Isn’t Count Chocula a more brownish color? It’s obviously not Count Blah because Count Blah says “blah” all the time. And he’s an actor, not an evil Republican. (Besides, I’d rather vote for Tardy.)

In the promo for this episode I know they had a scene where Homer was being led out of the Capitol saying something like, “There is no NORTH Dakota, they just don’t wnat the truth to be known!” but I don’t remember it in the episode.

One of the best episdoes in a long time.

“Ze cheese, she stinks! No, wait…eetz me!”

“If Eddie Murphy can play Dr. Doolittle, we can make this work.”

And what about the line, “if you want me to kiss your babies, wipe the crap off their faces and pass them up here,” or something to that effect? Also gone, I think.

Vote Quimby!
Vote Quimby!
Vote Quimby!
ahhh…

Another vote for the CPR/CCR gag. Marge’s swear jar was worth a chuckle.

Not. Worst. Episode. Ever.

I guess, Gangster, that Fox has now started the commonplace practice in Hollywood of producing scenes for the trailer that never go in the show (or end up getting cut).

Was the aforementioned vampire in the Republican committee meeting supposed to be the same vampire who testified against Motherloving Sugar Corporation?

I can’t believe no one has listed the funniest line in the whole show (paraphrased):

Krusty: And I’ll finally be able to get rid of the FCC with their stupid list of the words you can’t say on TV!

Bart: Let me see that list (looks it over). Hmmmm, I’ve never even heard of number 9.

Krusty: That’s thirteening her while she’s elevening your five.

But he did say “blah” a couple times, didn’t he?

[sub]I’m really not this obsessive, really.[/sub]

“Blah” is a stereotypical vampire phrase.

I can’t believe it either. I say they were referring to a “blumpkin.” No, I will not explain. Do a Google search.

"How can I prove we’re live?

Penis!"

Not from work though!

Cletus: “He appeals to th’ average Joe Sixtooth!”
Lurlene: “Whar’d yew git another tooth?”
Cletus: “Th’ sidewalk.”

Is the yokel wife actually named Lurlene? She’s not the same Lurlene (Lumpkin) that Homer managed to country-western superstardom.
