Sims 2 is damn addictive...

We usually go to bed at 12. I was tired, but I could see my SO wasn’t, and really wanted play Sims. So I said,

“Hey, you’re an adult, stay up, play it for a little while, just remember that you have to get up at 6:30.”

So I fall asleep…

and wake up TWO HOURS LATER, at 1:55, and he’s still playing it!

But I want more stuff to put in my houses!

It took a looooong time, but I’m hooked now. If a little nervous. I’ve got a girlfriend for my male character. I am a little nervous about over or under doing it. I thought that would be a good time to switch off.

Come join lee’s thread in Café Society.

Lute Did you used to be someone else? 9000+ posts and I’ve never heard of you.

Got ya beat.
Stayed up until 3:00am on a work night at least three times since it came out.
I rule!

Wait… :dubious:

See here: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=277010.

Actually, I’m reading there, too, but this seemed more Mundane and Pointless than anything else.

I’m totally addicted to Sims 2.

Must…go…play…

For that reason, I didn’t buy it last week.

I really want to play it but I know it will severely affect my grades. It doesn’t help that I bring a laptop to all my classes either. :frowning:

Harmless, I checked out your art, great stuff.

I am adicted, but I have a slight problem. Now that I have begun a relationship with my sim, I feel as nervous for the sim as I would for myself, about doing the wrong thing.

Merci!
I’m thinking of doing a huge Steven Tyler next, after finishing Cohen.
It’s gonna rock!

Now…just a brief memo…

Dear Bossman,
LET ME OUT OF WORK; I HAVE SIMS TO RAISE!!! :frowning:
Don’t you understand? They need me.
How else are they going to make babies and get promotions and fall in love?
Don’t you know I have a whole world that needs my attention?

Hey… :dubious:
You think that’s what happened to God? His boss won’t let him play with us? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m so going to hell.

I have a question for you guys…

How is the game working on your machines? Is it slow? What are your system specs?

Actually, the secondary reason why I didn’t buy it is because I was afraid it wouldn’t work on my laptop or even my desktop. I think I have only the minimum system requirements on both computers, maybe a little less. :frowning:

It’s infectious!

2 hrs. 42 min.
Sumbody shoot me.

As usual all the options are scaleable. On my laptop (P4 3GHz 1GB ram Nvidia Geforce Go 5700) it runs well with all the options at maximum. But I’d imagine a game of this nature would run ok on a low spec machine with some choice options lowered (shadows, advanced lighting etc.) I could be wrong.

Lobsang, I just finished reading Thief of Time, by Terry Pratchett. Don’t know if that’s where you got your name or not, but literally, I just put it down and logged on, and saw you in this thread.

One for the weird coincidences list.

And I just opened this thread to talk about Sims 2. Saw this post at the end. Another Coincidence. cool!

I am also half way through my second reading of Thief of Time.
And now for my reason for posting. I got my sim to ask his ‘love’ to move in. Turns out the woman had a kid. Now whenever I try to go to work He won’t go bbecause he can’t leave the kid at home (but the kid’s own mother doesn’t hesitate to leave for work!) So how do I quit my job so that I don’t lose points by not turning up to work?

Shouldn’t the kid be going to school?

By the way, Elena, nice to see that there’s another Pratchett fan on the Dope. I was going to change my name to Rincewind or something, but I’m too attached to dwalin. (Lobsang: Two readings? Two? Pfeh. I’ve read Small Gods at least eighteen times.)

Either call work and tell them to shove it, or call a nanny to take care of the kid while you’re gone. She’ll eat your food and waste your electricity, though.

On a side note, once my Sims have reached retirement age they can’t take days off. They can either Quit or Retire, but not call in sick.

I have been wondering why she’s not going. Is a school bus supposed to turn up?

Maybe I played the game for the duration of her weekend off only. I didn’t play long.
(p.s. Eighteen times? Are you serious? In my whole life I’ve read two books twice. One was a Harry Potter book and the other was Nightwatch)

Which is the better option? (I get paid around 450 simloneans and I am in the Special Forces. My partner is paid about the same)
P.p.S. Not only did my partner already have a kid, the kid’s father is an alien. When I asked her to move in I assumed she was single and child-free. I intended to have a child with her.
p.p.p.s thanks for the advice.

p.p.p.p.s what does p.s. mean?
