Messing around with 4 right now. I think they did a good job with matching the colors of different items.
Those who tried the CaS demo and want to play their created Sims in the full game need to go into Documents -> Electronic Arts -> The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo -> Tray and copy the contents of that folder to The Sims 4 -> Tray.
Dude’s just constipated.
How’s the game rollout going? The chatter I’ve seen on Reddit seems mostly that people are surprised at how smooth it’s been.
After seeing this thread I’m a little less enthusiastic about buying it, especially since I’ll have to download Windows to use it anyway. That list of removed features is quite helpful.
I’ll probably end up getting it at some point, though. I like at least some of the new features quite a lot, like the introduction of different meters for romance and friendship.
EA’s Origin service does claim to offer hassle-free refunds, unlike Steam. Users have up to a week after the purchase date (a week after release date if a pre-order) or 24 hours after launching a game, whichever comes first, to tell Origin that they don’t like said game.
Well, I hate the loading screens. You don’t see your Sim actually go anywhere, there’s a loading screen and then voila, they’re there.
Would be cool if they have “cook an angry breakfast”.
Mod The Sims Sims4 discussion page. Lots of threads, very mixed reviews. It looks like those who prefer the Sims 2 style of play are more likely to like Sims 4.
That sounds encouraging since that describes me…
Bearing mind that my first exposure to the franchise was with The Sims 2 about 5 weeks ago, I would say that it’s a big step up in most aspects.
Ooh, that is interesting. Sims 3 never appealed to me as much as Sims 2, but I never knew if that was because my life changed and I didn’t have time to spend on it anymore.
Surprising they aren’t charging for the updates.
Yeah, I thought that was the whole point of omitting pools. Did they really just not have time to implement pools?
My completely unsubstantiated opinion is that they were going to charge for it, but when they realized the outrage at the lack of pools they decided it’d be a really bad idea.
My unsubstantiated understanding is that they’ll be doing monthly free updates. At some point they’ll also offer a monthly subscription that’ll give you exclusive goodies plus early access to the free stuff. They’ll use this subscription model instead of the serial expansions they’ve done in the past.
Pools - including rooftop pools - are in, as is death by drowning.
