The house is smelling yummy - I’ve got a chuck roast simmering in beef stock with onions, celery, and seasonings, plus a couple of glugs of burgundy. About an hour before we eat, I’ll toss in the carrots and N.O.T. chunks. Doncha wish you were having dinner with us?
Roxy has been delivered to SIL’s mom. I’ve got 3 loads of laundry out on the lines and a load of unders in the dryer, because there wasn’t nearly enough space or clothes pins left to hang out all our whites. Socks alone would deplete my pin supply! So once the timer goes off, I’ll fold the assorted unders.
Somewhere along the line, **FCD **will want my help, but he hasn’t asked yet. I have no idea what he’s doing out there. And I hear lots of loud noises from the basement, pretty much all involving the movement of stuff from the old storage closet to the new storage area. Then daughter is going to paint and SIL will start putting up the OSB walls (which will be hidden by shelves, so they’re not going to paint them.) As soon as they empty the stuff that we stored in the bathtub/shower, **FCD **and I will fix up the bathroom so they can use it, or so SIL’s brother can use it when he stays over. I expect it’ll become the home for Roxy’s tub and toys.
And before too long, I’ll have my studio back. Huzzah!!
Went to Red Robin as planned and stuffed myself fully; unusual for me, I had a 32oz. Coors Light, which is more beer than I have drunk in the past 3 months combined, so I may be a little light-headed. The 93F temperature dried me out quickly…
Home in the AC and that is where I’ll probably remain.
Howdy Y’all! Deheathenization, N.O.L., and nappage have occurred. Since it’s so HAWT out neither of us has been inclined to go to the cee-mint pond. We both got a little over heated yestiddy so probably best to stay in the a/c today. Ima make a peach cobbler in a little while just cause.
All the veggies are in the pot roast pot. We should be able to eat in about half an hour, which is good because none of us had lunch.
It smells *soooooooooo *good in here!
Laundry is all off the lines, folded or hangered, and stowed. It’s starting to cloud over a bit - chance of rain overnight. All in all, it’s been a good day.
Went to the barn where more than a few people were nursing hangovers. Stopped for a chopped salad cuz I don’t feel like cooking. Came home, found the French Open on teevee, and fell asleep for 2.5 hours. Now it’s sunny and I may dust my filthy house.
it’s supposed to be sunny and hot here… it was cold and rainy … now it’s clear but still cold for this time of year …
we ended up having 3 parties here … street was so clogged with parking that when the EMTs had to come to give someone an epi-pen shot because they ate something they were allergic to they parked at the corner and wheeled the gurney down the street …
aunt went to Walmart to shop for tomorrows bbq their meat section leaves much to be desired in selection and price … she forgot half the stuff she usually gets and didn’t buy anything i particularly cared for sos ill probably pass of the food less I get really hungry…
Yes I do FCM
Today is the third day in a row for ham with broccoli and fart blossoms.
Which isn’t so bad because I like ham and broccoli and fart blossoms, but a little variety is nice.
Doggio I had considered Groovy as a name, maybe the next one. If Ripple had been a girl, she might have been named Ruffles, because Rrrrrruffles have Rrrrrridges.
I have to go down to the armpit again next weekend. My mother had to bring her safe deposit box home from the bank, and while going through it she found a bunch of stuff for Sah-son and me. Some savings bonds that are very old, and some other stuff but she didn’t say what.
It looked like it was going to storm several times today, I was hoping it would drive the party next door inside. Now the sun is shining, the party is underway, and Ripple keeps running to the window to bark at them.
It was nice at the park today as long as you were in the shade. There wasn’t too much playing, but they all seemed happy to just hang out together.
The pot roast was one of my best ever! I just finished the dishes - full dishwasher load plus 2 pots and some knives on the separate drainer. Roxy is being retrieved. I’m about to assume the afghan position.
We had a shower that was so brief, I wasn’t even aware of it. 55% chance of one tonight - we shall see. Chillage shall ensue.
Moooooom, if my Mustang is still in existance, it would now be 50 years old. Still, it was the coolest car that I’ve ever owned.
I bought an upgraded version of my last Canon printer on sale for $44. I also ordered the next set of ink from da Jungle at $24. I will do the install this evening. I need to take photos of the Epson to put on CL and FB Marketplace. I will start by asking $125, but I will bargain.
I took Nelson to the dog park this afternoon. Our neighbors were there and Snoop, the mastiff, was playing with a bowling ball. I also found out that the son is our new maintenance guy.
It’s too hot to cook. The turkey thighs and kidney beans are prepped to make the tamale casserole tomorrow. I don’t plan on leaving the house.
Evening all. The beer was not a good idea, ending up taking a long nap and didn’t get the ambition to mow the lawn. Ah well, I’ll get it tomorrow, there won’t be clippings picked up on Memorial Day.
Need to get a little bit to eat then see what is about. Catch you all come the next MMP.
Well … it’s not a Mustang. And it’s not a Challenger either. Just wasn’t in the cards.
My dad had test driven a Challenger and I was pretty psyched for it, but by the time I got here it had already been sold. Couldn’t find another one within my price range. The only Mustang we could find that would fit the bill was a private sale, and considering I need to insure and register in Maine, it was just easier to buy from a dealer. The other thing is, my parents are helping me out with this purchase and ever since they offered I’ve felt like a total douche considering a big muscle car, as much as they were willing to go along with it too.
So – long story short, I bought a 2015 Dodge Dart GT sedan. Just a little four banger, but it’s got a sport package and drives a bit like a sports car - really tight steering, stiff suspension. It’s also got all the bells and whistles you’d want - touch screen, GPS, Sirius, all that shit. And the thing is spotless. The engine looks like it was put in yesterday. It was a much better deal than we could have gotten away with going for a pony car.
I’m not bummed at all. I loved my Mustang but that just isn’t reality any more. This car will serve me well in the snow of Maine and my soul is little salved knowing I curtailed my more selfish desires.
It’s a nice car and I’m really pleased with it so far. It should be a pretty easy trip north … I’m hoping.
well took uber to the Hispanic store and the store was so picked over and they did have a decent pack of boneless ribs but aunt didn’t wanna pay 8.69 for em and their deli macaroni salad was ridiculous so I’m back to plan A for tomorrow … started pouring as we left but went to subway next door and wow did they cut their menu down a bit… but had steak and cheese and it was good
