Sliding into May in the MMP

The first third of 2019 is pretty much wrapped up. Now what? Are you planning your summer vacation? Just muddling thru? Oblivious to the passage of time? Amazed that it’s 2019 - why did the 90s rush by so fast??:eek::eek:

Happy Moanday, all! Oh yeah, it’s 47-stoopit-degrees in my yard right now. Stoopit spring!!

First! It’s good to be juvenile!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall spiff da cave today and not much else outside of makin’ sup. Seriously, I see no need to leave da cave at all today. Guess that means all heck will break loose and make me leave. Or not.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Oh, and **Walter **- regarding your post at the end of the last MMP - much as I love Merrylande, you’re probably right about not wanting to settle here, considering how retirees are taxed. But do consider historic hurricane paths as you make your decision - you’ll want your retirement home to remain unscathed by weather, right?

Personally, I strongly recommend AGAINST Florida, just because I hate that state, and I know my opinions carry a lot of weight when you make decisions…

Sliding into second (poster) since Mooommm is a two-timer! …poster that is.

Happy Moonday!

It was an obscene 37 degrees outside when I woke up, 43 now.
Supposed to get up to 63.

Kind of grumpy, woke up too early because my stomach hurt.
I’d like to stay in all day, but I know the dog will start bugging me when I get off irk.

I don’t know what I’m going to do today, I’ll figure it out as I go along.

Blurf Had a horrible night in that stupid twilight sleep which is not really sleep at all. Tis gonna be a longgggggggggggggg day today.

Saturday it snowed all day. Yesterday the sun was out in full force and the snow melted. Today it is pouring rain.

No planned vaycay for me. I’ve traveled abroad the last 5 summers so it’s time to stay home. My birthday is at the end of May so I’ll take a week off to laze around. I don’t like staycations because I end up doing a lot of chores and errands.

I had another girl start today. This one is full time. It will take a bit to get her trained. Right now I have five employees which is the most I have ever had at one time. I am actually overstaffed but one girl is expecting her first child and I don’t expect her to return after the baby is born. I am to the point i would rather have too many than not enough. I have operated this place with too little staff for many, many years. Now once I get this one trained someone can actually be sick or on vacation. Imagine that.

Roxy is napping and I’m lunching. Right after I put her to bed, I went out and transplanted the liriope. I sprinkled a bunch of Miracle Gro over the whole garden, and I’ve got the sprinkler going now.

After the RoxStar gets up and is fed, she and I are going grocery shopping. I don’t think I’ll do any mulching today, but maybe tomorrow when I get back from work. Or Weds. It’ll happen eventually.

And to answer my own question - no vacation plans for us for this year. Too much to do and not nearly enough time to do it.

I am crazy and I know it.

The neighbor’s mother told me she knows somebody looking for a home for a shar pei puppy. I said to let me know if she is serious about getting rid of it. I do not need another dog, I think Ripple will not like sharing me with another dog.

It doesn’t hurt to check it out though, does it?

Yes, you’re crazy. Then again, you hang with us, so DUH!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have risen. For the second time actually. It still sucks. I drove my daughter to a late play on Saturday and I’ve been paying the price ever since. Stupid head.

Today I’m supposed to take hubby to the doctor, but he wants the appt moved. The middle of the day is not good for him.

Kids both stayed home today. Even Akiko is acting like she’s got the Mondays.

Puppies like to have friends.

Friends yes, siblings, not so much.

Spring is springing away merrily here, the back roads especially are ludicrously pretty right now, all bluebells and other flowers, with the ferns all uncurling. It’ll only look this good for another week or so, but it ain’t 'alf nice right now.

Had stoodint beekeeping day today, which all went really well. Despite neither knowing how many bee suits there’d be available, nor knowing how many people would show, we had the exact right number (if you ignore me having to sit it out for half an hour 'cos one person just popped by for a bit). A couple of people got stung, but not badly, just one each, they didn’t seem to mind and no-one panicked. T’was pretty fun, but I’m glad it’s over.

Then checked my bees on the way back; they’re doing OK, but I’m glad I checked on ‘em, they’re running out of honey storage space. It’s a good problem to have, but it still needs fixin’. I shall nip back down tomorrow with another box for them, it’s a bit late tonight. This may be entertaining, as it means carrying a load of gear through two small fields full of extremely excitable pet sheep, who think hoomans generate food, and stampede.

Anyway, I didn’t get time for lunch, and I’m hungry. Dinner time.

Yeah, I’m already planning my summer vacation, but that’s only because the company I work for has decided to close for a week over the 4th of July. I figure we’ll take a long weekend to visit my family in Illinois and spend the rest of it doing a stay-cation.

This past weekend, I saw the latest Avengers movie… and it was glorious. One of my top 5 moviegoing experiences in my life.

“Hellos everyone, I missed you,” a mysterious scribely voice whispers with the wind.

I was focusing on my plotsicling and decided to just read authorly forums while taking breaks from plotsicling, but then I got stuck again, and the sdmb is great for research, so I am back again.

I didn’t sleep for a week and was getting super grumpy, so I had to give up caffeine. It has helped me sleep every night for a new week, but I really miss my Doctor P.

Howdy all.

Got up this morning and first thing took off for the Great May Stockup Shopping. About 80 miles and 4 stops laters, had everything on my list, then put it away, went to get my JJ’s regular Monday sammich (they now know em so well they ring it up before I get to the register) and filled my gas tank. I have had a busy morning, and it’s 80F and N.O.S. so soccer practice is on the agenda at 5pm.

swampy, you’ll be happy to know I bought 50 rolls of terlet paper so the crisis has been averted.

Tomorrow is Avengers: Endgame viewing, figure the crowds will be less on a Tuesday noontime showing. Juliet, without any spoilers, I didn’t see Infinity Wars (I know the basics of it and who died, but not the whole movie) will Endgame still be a thrill?

scribe, good to see you again. Nothing new on the plot from me, but maybe FCM will have another dream that can help…

Nut, take care, sheep can be dangerous…and glad the beekeeping went well.

Sari, your willingness to help does you much credit, but you know Ripple best and if it would work. Best wishes.

Butters, sounds like you can actually do supervisory stuff now. Hope the staffing stays in a good range.

Thinking about nappage before practice. All y’all take care.

Got some RV trips planned this summer. Had to do the annual Spring detailing on the exterior of the rig the past couple of days. Damned moss grows on anything, dunnit? Every crack and crevice has to be scrubbed with a toothbrush, then wash all the winter gunk off, then wax. Finished this morning. I’ll make my annual trip to see kids and grandkids over Labor Day weekend this year, instead of Memorial Day. It would be way too emotional to do it on MD this year, as that’s when my son died last year.

In the fall, we’re planning to fly out to leaf-peeper land. Never done that before. Probably make a stop in NYC to see some old friends and get a pastrami sandwich.

It was 32° this morn; gonna be a high of 77° tomorrer. :smack:
I might, possibly, perhaps, actually take a vacation this year.

Aren’t you like a week late for that?

Yes, but it’s better iffn you know all of the characters. You can do some brushing up on Wiki to get it.

Wheresabout? PA/NJ - Delaware Water Gap / Lehigh Gorge area perchance if you’re going to be in NYC?
