Sliding into May in the MMP

We’re thinking Letchworth State Park and Allegheny State Park; my wife is from Buffalo, so we’ll likely visit there, also.

I go to Letchworth every year; for Memorial Day, but have been up there in both the fall & winter (this year), too.

I strongly suggest trying to book a flight with Sean & seeing it from the air. If the winds are right, you’ll go over the falls &/or into the gorge. I’ve flown into the gorge a couple of times. Very cool!

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure I could convince either my wife or myself to climb into a balloon.

I finished Mrs. L.A.'s shed.

Project complete
12-foot pressure-treated 2x6s on concrete piers
Pressure-treated 2x4 floor edge supports
Plywood floor
Floor painted with ‘reconditioner/waterproofer’ deck paint
Canopy frame (wide-angle distortion)
Canopy frame, different angle

When I said I was building a shed for Mrs. L.A., an uncle replied, , ‘Building a shed for [Mrs. L.A.]? Personally I think it is a bad idea. But if you feel you must, make sure she has plenty of fresh water and out twice a day for potty breaks.’ :stuck_out_tongue:

That is a floored tent. :dubious:

Howdy Y’all! I spiffed da cave, bingewatched some more Nurse Jackie, and made sup which got et. Did not leave da cave today, so yay!

MM I suppose that will be enough for a couple of months at least. :stuck_out_tongue:

Johnny looks great, and like flytrap said, a tent with a floor.

It’s a canopy shed. :stuck_out_tongue:
I might build a frame shed when it wears out.

.

I think it looks great. If you decide you want something more permanent there, you’ve already built the floor. You can always keep going from that, or slide a ready-made (or kit) shed right onto the platform.

I would like the news to stop being so shitty for just a day or two. Please and thank you.

sari, you never know how a dog will take getting a new roommate. I’m not sure that I would bring another pupper in after the little beagle houseguest last summer. Nelson got a bit jealous, he did.

Nice job on the she shed Johnny!

Today is Nelson’s second birthday. He got some mojo poke as a treat, I made the appointment for his annual physical next month and applied his flea and tick treatment. Speaking of which, have any of the other dog Mumpers tried the Saresto flea collars? I’ve been considering going to one of those once we run out of the Advantix.

Steelrat I had a shapeshifter volunteer to be the murderer in a dream, the other night. But I’m not supposed to be writing that kind of book. I suppose it’s my own fault for mixing in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina with Inspector Whicher. I wanted something I could tell my family about. But is it my fault that they’re terrified of everything cool and fun?

I haven’t seen End Game yet. I will eventually, but I don’t have access to a cinema. The only time I get to go is once a year at Christmas. But I have seen every other important Marvel movie before it, except for the Ant Man’s. Is Spiderman Homecoming Marvel, too? If so, I haven’t seen that one, either.

And the only way you’d get me inside one of those balloon death traps is to dispose of my cold dead body in the balloon basket.

Also, I have been fortunate enough to not have to go on vacation for a couple of years now. I certainly hope this year’s good luck streak will continue!

LOL, we’re first looking at NC as we have a family home in OBX, and you actually get seasons…I hate the winters here, we loved spring in Merrylande…the hurricane consideration is absolutely one to consider…we know as many people that have left FL as moved there…SC is second, although not Myrtle Beach - too crowded…

Evening all. After coaching soccer (the kids did well), I splurged (a whole $4.31) at Amazon and rented Infinity Wars so I’d be caught up tomorrow.

Wow. Topping that will take some doing.

Scribe, Cookie, one of the finest memories I have is a dawn balloon ride over the Masai Maru in Kenya with the great herds of Africa below me. Commercial balloons are pretty safe, and the memories are something.

LA John, looks good, don’t mind all the jealous folks, they’re just worried their wives will see it and want them to build something like it for them…

Everybody else just enjoy the day and see all y’all tomorrow.

Oh, after I took the photos I got some 1x2x8 boards (they didn’t have any 12-foot ones) and painted them. I nailed them through the tarp to the 2x6 boards on the perimeter to hold down the bottoms. I suspect mice will find a home in it anyway, but at least they’ll have restricted access points. (Or the mice won’t inhabit it; they don’t live in the wooden shed.)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and dark with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Spring is definitely here. Today I shall do laundry and commence irk on the cee-mint pond. Need to get it in shape so’s we can start usin’ it for the season. Today I shall scoop icky stuff out, add salt and run the cleaner. I am sure I will need algaecide and thus must purchase some. I feel like I have plenty of salt for the season but may go ahead and purchase that as well. The good news is I can purchase both on line. Algaecide gets delivered directly to da cave, but the salt I have to order and go pick up at the pool store. Guess delivery persons don’t want to schlep 40 lb. bags of salt all over everywhere. Sup shall be chikin enchiladas (OLÉ!), rice, and beans. Fart fest to follow.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

RoxStar started screaming at midnight - I woulda sworn her hair was on fire!! Her parentals finally got her settled down after about 10 minutes, but I was WIDE AWAKE anyway. I played a boring game on my tablet till almost 1, and managed to fall asleep shortly thereafter. Still dragging this morning, tho.

We need to take Higgs to the vet this evening. She’s been limping and one of her toenails is at a funky angle - we think she caught it on something. Poor baby. I’ll be taking her - luckily, our vet has evening hours.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. A tired day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!!

I had the Monday-ist of Mondays. Back to work today

Happy Toosday!

The sun is shining, supposed to get up to 75 today.

I’m so excited, my new vacuum will be delivered today. I just ordered it Sunday.
I got a shark with a self cleaning roller, so no more cutting and unwinding hair (I hope) from the roller.

My son has almost finished unburying the patio. I have no idea what we will do with it, we already have a porch and a deck.

I haven’t heard anything more about the puppy, so we will see.
I didn’t even ask what color or gender, not that it really matters to me anyway.
For most of my adult life I have had more than one dog. It has its pluses and minuses.
Red, I think Ripple will be very jealous, but that could be offset by having a playmate. Now that he has the hang, of it he loves to play with other dogs. He plays rough though.
The dogs always crack me up when they are going at each other hard, then one will stop to catch their breath or get a drink, and everybody stops playing until breaths are caught and thirst is quenched, then they are right back at each other.

White tail cat was on the deck this morning, I was talking to him/her and was making some progress when Ripple pushed the door open and charged outside. Poor thing is so thin, and I guess stunted, because its head looks too big for its body. I put some food out but I don’t know if he/she will eat any of it.

Today’s agenda includes vacuuming, some laundry, ordering groceries. The neighbor is paying half the plumbing bill, so I need to call the plumber and let them know, and I can send them my half.

Morning all. Nothing much on the agenda except deciding if I want to see Endgame today or go see Mrs. Marvel first and then see it Wednesday. Decisions, decisions…

Need to find some sustenance and make myself presentable here shortly.

I had a very Monday-ish Monday, too, Doggio. Boss was on my back, not enough hours to do enough work… then come home and clean the house just so my adorable little monsters can destroy it.

And rinse and repeat today. At least my boss isn’t literally over my shoulder today since I’m machine side. But I have deadlines to meet and she expects results. (As she should.)

Back to irk.

Speaking of Knoebels --------- Saturday was good for the park and us; nice sun but a little chilly. Nice crowd for the park to make money and good short lines for me! Sunday was still chilly and wet; constant misting rain – so basically no lines at all. The park was pretty much break-even but I went the first 14 bumper car cycles without missing one and I ended up with maybe 40 rides for the day. I’m still snorting graphite.

Relatives were all good but cousin Walter the Pollock made things interesting. Just after we headed off to the park Friday he crashed his truck. He stopped because of a crash up ahead of him and a guy rear-ended him. Said driver asked why he had stopped and he replied “So I didn’t slam into the guy in front of me like an asshole”. Clearly the guy behind him was even dumber than Wally. The truck is probably dead (sandwiched so both ends are trashed) but Walter is fine and dandy. Well -------- as fine and dandy as he was before the accident.
Three more trips to Knoebels are already booked.
