Since we're all in a comic book mood: Who's your favorite comic character?

Marvel or DC or any combination of the two.

Mine are Thanos (very popular due to Avengers)

And Venom who, upon thinking of it more and more, eclipses Thanos as my favorite of all time.

The Coyote.

My go-to’s when I was a kid was Thor, The Avengers, and Spider-Man. Later I really got into Daredevil – I like the Frank Millers - the graphic novels.

Swamp Thing.

Shang-Chi, master of Kung Fu

Captain Marvel (this one, not that one).

I’ve always liked the Golden Age characters, at least on a conceptual level, since I first started reading about the JSA in the annual JLA team-ups. But Captain Marvel has the benefit of original stories that are actually decent, unlike most of the JSA stuff. I really liked the Sandman and Spectre revivals in the 90s, (Sandman Mystery Theater, that is, not the Gaiman Sandman, though that’s also good). I haven’t caught up with them recently, but am interested in this new Earth-2 series that was mentioned in another thread.

If we’re talking comic books, then Scrooge McDuck, no question. If we’re talking comics in general, then Pogo.

Back in the '80’s when I was reading comic books, my favorites were Grimjack (the original, not the reincarnated version), and the entire cast of Weasel Patrol.

Superman, Swamp Thing, Howard the Duck are in the running, but Morpheus (Sandman) is #1.

Hard to nail it down. Spider-Man, The Thing, Superman, and the Fabulous Frog-Man (yes, really), all for basically the same reason.

If we’re talking big-time superhero comics, Batman.

If we’re going to get into smaller, more niche books, it gets more complicated. Several of the *Mouse Guard *characters are delightful (though I’ve only read the books once, so I can’t remember them by name). Stinky, the badger from Fables, was great before he turned into a religious fanatic. (I’m way behind on Fables, sadly, so I don’t know what might’ve happened to him since.) “The Creature” (heh) and Pullman from *The Unwritten *are both awesome in their way, and Pauly Bruckner, foul-mouthed rabbit extraordinaire…

Batman, if we are talking on-going characters.
I also really liked Paul Kirk Manhunter (RIP). He was a good character in an exciting story; but one that had a beginning, middle, and end. Even so, I think some amazing things could have been done with him in more recent times. He was one of the first characters DC had that really definitively moved things away from a juvenile audience.

 This is almost word for word what I would have answered. Get out of my head sir

I was all set to say Ozymandias without being able to go that extra mile, but since the character is about to get his own series I guess he’s doubly qualified.

Probably not what you were looking for, but it reflects my limited comic book exposure: Fat Freddy’s cat.

Bigby Wolf from Fables. He’s the “big bad wolf”, but he reformed and became the sheriff for all the other fables. The three little pigs still hate him, though. Here’s a better picture of him talking to Snow White.

When I was a kid, it was Superman all the way. I got older and migrated to Marvel from DC via G.I.Joe, then started getting into the superhero books when Secret Wars came out. I got into Spider-Man, X-Men, Punisher, and Captain America, among others. Of them all, I’d have to go with the ole webhead.

Along those lines, I’d have to go with Mr. Natural!

I was an X-Men (the first issue I bought was #94, an issue in to the re-boot and featuring the death of Thunderbird - my fave character was Cyclops for a variety of reasons.) and Spider-Man kid.

On the less major side, I also had a thing for **Iron Fist **- classic revenge story gone sideways coupled with **Gil Kane **pencils for the first issues in Marvel Suspense…

Catwoman
Death (as envisioned by Neil Gaiman)
Favorite male, Batman.
Oh, and Jean Grey
