There’s a reason I’m posting at 2:45 in the afternoon – as of 5:00 yesterday, I no longer have a job. It’s not all bad – it wasn’t a very good job (ok, at times it was an awful job!) and I have a prospect for a new job. Still, since I only found out late Friday afternoon that Monday would be my last day, it’s been a rough weekend. At least the economy’s better than it was two years ago, and I should be able to find IT work.
Keep your fingers crossed, folks. While it’s all very nice to have an afternoon free to surf the Dope and make snickerdoodles, it’ll be even nicer to have a job!
Sorry to hear it - hope you get the IT Managerial position you mention elsewhere.
Personally, I’m an IT contractor, as mentioned in a thread a few months back - the contract I’m on is transitioning to anew company, and I’m going with it - so I still get to be employed, but the benefits are less favorable, and I have to fill out all these damn insurance forms again…
