Singularity the PC game.

For the people that have played the Singularity game on PC is it buggy or stable? Are the graphics great or not? Do you like the game overall or not?

Apparently nobody has wasted their money on this yet.

I haven’t played it, but so far I’ve heard nothing but praise of it from critics with some wonder at the non-marketing the game received.

I’ve also heard that aside from some texture issues it’s stable on the PC. Personally I’m waiting for a full review and patch 1, but I do plan on picking it up.

I too have heard of issues and await input that issues don’t exist.

I’ve played it through on the PC, and had no issues that I can recall. The graphics were quite good, I thought.

I generally liked it, had some interested twists in gameplay with the aging/renewing thing. Nothing too spectacular.

Not a great game by a long shot. Stable and decent looking, but completely unoriginal and rather short. The plot is very generic and unengaging, the time gun thing is very limited in what it can do. The “sphere of slow” blatantly plagiarized from Joe Haldeman’s “Forever War” is pretty fun, but not really used to its full potential. What I ultimately took away from this game was the desire to play Bioshock 2 again, which I promptly did and it was good. It’ll be a fun way to spend a sunday once the price drops to $20, definitely not worth the $50 they want for it at the moment.

I didn’t think it was worth $50 either. $20 was more in line with what I thought it would be worth.

Desperate for a single-player shoot-em up I decided to buy this game. I installed it last night and played for a couple of hours.

My impression is that it’s enjoyable, nice in appearance, no bugs at all (unless you count the fact that I had to turn the sound way way up to hear anything*).

*To illustrate just how high I’d upped the volume, I was deafened upon ending the game and deciding to watch some streamed TV. I acknowledge that this may not be the game’s fault. Might just be an anomaly. Will see how it is tonight when I get home.

ETA: The graphics have a bioshock-y feel to them.

FYI, this is now $10.20 on Steam.

I picked this game up cheap, didn’t expect much but as someone with an interest in Cold War history and science-fiction it looked intruiging.

And…I really enjoyed it! I wasn’t expecting much which probably helped but I found it a perfectly servicable and fun old-fashioned shooter with an interesting and well plotted storyline, tactile weapons, fun powers and some nice touches (such as occassionally an enemy soldier may fumble in a firefight as he’s trying to reload)

Nothing extraordinary but definitely worth your time if you can pick it up cheap.

One thing that did ruin suspension of disbelief until I was able to let it slide was the Russian/English signs on what was supposed to be a highly-secret Soviet research installation in the depth of the Cold War…I think not. There was a similar problem with all the characters speaking English but I just rationalised that away as my character being fluent in Russian and understanding what they were saying.

As someone above said I’m amazed at how little publicity this game received, it deserved better than that.

edited to add all three endings are quite good, I liked the final twist in the ‘good’ ending:

“Nothing ever happens out here, does it Comrade?”

And the final sequence post-credits ties things up nicely.

I had the same problem as well, no idea why.
