“We may be stuck on the 404, but at least it’s not -30C!”
“My house just burned down, but at least it’s not -30C!”
“We just lost the lawsuit, but at least it’s not -30C!”

How good was this piper? Just imagine the reaction of some stressed-out Scotsman who hates the bagpipes, going to Hawaii for a well-deserved vacation, sitting down on his patio with a Mai Tai or Piña Colada, when all of a sudden… Hark … what is that noise covering the booming sound of the surf? Bagpipes??? NOOOOOO!!!

To paraphrase Dr. Watson, "“A well-played bagpipe is a treat for the gods – a badly-played one ----” (warning: follow the youtube link at your own risk).

And the proper response should have been to break out your own pipes and join in.

my door is always open …i have been known to host strangers at times

That’s good, cause they don’t get much stranger than us!

And some of us can sing, too!
