Yep, I have some questions too about whether this is the same boss . . . this chick isn’t vegan if she is adding milk, whole or otherwise. Maybe soy?
Re: Vegetarian moms and nursing. I’m a vegetarian (lacto-ovo vegetarian) and I have some friends who are vegan. who have had children. One mommy changed her diet to include dairy and eggs when she was nursing, another one did not and just increased her soy intake and made other adjustments. I don’t know if any of my vegetarian friends would eat fish or poultry regardless of nursing. But it’s a matter of individual choice and need, I would imagine, just like all dietary choices.
I added fish to my diet when I was nursing my second daughter, because, along with some other health problems, I was showing signs of protein deficiency. I might have been able to add vegetable protein for the same result, but it was far easier at the time just to break down and open a can of tuna or broil a frozen filet.
The second baby also slept in the bed with us, whereas the first had always been in her own room. I got a whole lot more sleep, especially with an active toddler who awoke early in the morning ready for her day, by being able to roll over and nurse rather than get up once or twice in the middle of the night.
