Six Feet Under 6/27

I liked it, if only because it led to the scene with her friend talking to Nate and Rico about how much she still enjoyed her life and how confortable she was about dying. It was a nice contrast to Nate’s trauma over turning 40.

I saw it as a part of her attempt to break out of character, like when she was trying so hard to look like a “normal family” in the last episode.

I can’t disagree with that. Anyone who would deliberately bring another life into this train wreck of a family should be shot.

I just wish they weren’t doing the “Nate marries someone he doesn’t love out of obligation and beats himself up over it” thing again. It worked well a couple of seasons ago (at least, it did once it became clear that Nate was turning into his father), but now it just feels tired.

I do get the feeling that we’re being set up for a solid finish, though.

The opening deaths have always been my favorite part of the show. Has anyone ever made a tape of just all the openings? With maybe a few snippets from the show about the decedents?
