I haven’t seen the site, nor do I plan to…I have no interest in viewing ANY type of porn, whether it be to form a serious opinion or not.
While I am in no way supporting the site, or disregarding the concept of anorexia completely, I do have to agree with Lissla a bit.
Almost everyone that meets me first thinks I’m anorexic- I’m a size 0 at age 16, although I’m 5’9. However, this is just in my genes. I eat healthily yet in no means do I force myself not to eat, and I excercise often (I’m on a volleyball team) but I certainly do not do it excessively.
Again, I haven’t seen this site yet and I fully believe that most of these women are seriously doing harm to thier bodies. But please remember, just because someone looks really skinny does NOT automatically anorexic.
<B>melly</b> - I didn’t go to the site, but the <B>is</b> a difference. In fact, there’s a woman who works with me who is in her 20’s and has a child and wears a child’s size 12. But she doesn’t look like she’s on death’s door. She hasn’t been on the Auschwitz diet. She’s just small. Don’t judge until you’ve seen the photos. I daresay you’ll see the difference.

Trust me, melly, these women are not merely thin. They’re dying. And I certainly wouldn’t encourage you to look for yourself, it’s pretty traumatizing.
The comparisons to death-camp victims are not hyperbole, like when people flippantly opine that Kate Moss resembles a Birkenau inmate. There’s no exaggeration involved, I’m sorry to say. :mad:

It occurs to me that, at 16, you may not have yet been exposed to some of the horrors of the holocaust.
If you’d like an idea of what these models look like, without having to look at something presented as pornography, here is a picture that perfectly illustrates the “aesthetic” that is highlighted at the site we’re discussing. You may compare this photo of someone suffering from anorexia. WARNING- THERE IS NUDITY IN BOTH PHOTOS.
Once again, no exaggeration involved. When people say it’s like looking at corpses, they’re not kidding. It’s very hard to believe that some of the “models” are still breathing.
Not all of women are that far-advanced in their disease, but most are.
This is why people in this thead are so outraged.
Yuck. I just had to look. It’s like the “taste this, it’s bad” syndrome. But these pictures…if I hadn’t looked, I’d have thought everyone was over reacting.
Having nearly no body fat can look good. Having no body fat and no muscles, either, is frightening and disgusting.
Definitely reminiscent of photos I’ve seen at holocaust exhibits.
Are those girls alive?
At the time the shutter opened, probably.
Given the advanced state of morbidity evident in the photographs, as likely not, at present.
