I saw a skit on TV years ago, where this group of people go to a restaurant and order all sorts of unusual things, like “Elephant Lip Pie”, and receive exactly what they want with perfect customer service, but when they get the bill of only $5 or so they complain and act offended it was too expensive.
Anyone remember this? I could have sworn it was 2nd City, and vaguely remember Dan Aykroyd, but anyone know more about it?
I can’t help you, but while you’re waiting on a good response I thought I’d tell you it reminded of the joke about a restaurant that had a sign that said “We’ll pay you $100 for anything you order that we can’t provide.” The punchline is that a guy comes in and orders an Elephant Ear Sandwich, and the waiter says “Well, I guess we owe you the $100.” The customer says “Hah! I knew you didn’t have Elephant Ears!” and the waiter says “On the contrary. We have plenty of them. We’re just out of the big buns!”
