I iz smart and I don’t care for matzoh ball soup. Actually, I don’t like soup period. I don’t consider it food. It’s just filler. I only like soup if I am ailing, then it must be Campbell’s Chicken Noodle soup with a sleeve of saltines (preferably Nabisco) crushed in.
I no longer eat Campbell’s soups - too dang salty! Plus my homemade soups are far superior! In fact, I’m thinking today might be a good day for some veggie-beef soup. Must check the freezer for beef…
It’s cold, grey and cloudy outside. I think it is supposed to snow but it shouldn’t amount to much since it’s supposed to get above freezing and go back up into the 40s tomorrow.
FCM There’s a few people I’d love to slap but none of them are within reach. The cowards.
I don’t know what I am doing today, I’m not supposed to do much of anything. I could log in to irk but I didn’t bring my land line phone with me and my cell phone isn’t working with the company’s system too well. There is a delay which makes for awkward conversation. Maye I’ll grab my mother’s land line phone.
I hae never had matzo ball soup so I have no idea if I like it. I’ve never had gelfite fish either. I have had creamed pickled herring over toast and I will never eat pickled herring again. That stuff is nasty.
As for Jagerneister, that is right up there with ouzo and peppermint schnapps - no thank you to all of them.
However, I do like brussels sprouts.
If it makes Lucky Louie happy to go to irk then take him with you.
I’ve never had matzoh ball soup either. Although now I’m thinking I’ve got to try it, though I’m with peedin: soup doesn’t fill me up. (Maybe it’s the defective nature of Illinois soups, peedin… kinda like Illinois weather. NOT SATISFYING. )
That sounds even worse than Campbell’s; did you make it?
A good matzoh-ball should just about bend the (metal) soup spoon when picked up due to it’s density, yet be soft when eaten*. I’ve had some wonderful MB soups in my lifetime.
Kinda like good NY cheesecake. If you can pick it up with a plastic fork that doesn’t snap, it’s too light. If it’s got the density of a cast iron manhole cover, it’s approaching good.
ETA: Steals Swampy’s “No Snow” sign & chops it to bits with an axe. 1-3" hasn’t started yet (but soon) & schools are already letting out early.
Tis barely a dusting.
Long-range forecast says we could get 3-5" on Monday, but until then, either sun or rain. Today is just dreary - I doubt we’ll get any snow and probably very little rain.
Three more conversation heart coasters to embroider - I’ll post a pic when done.
Sneaking in a post from irk. The AUDITORS have come and gone and we did good. I got off really easy this time. It is always a good reason to update SOP’s and make sure we are doing stuff correctly. Since they have come and gone I will bring my Vortex Catapult aka Lucky Louie back to irk tomorrow. If it weren’t an hour away I’d go get him now.
Now tis lunch time (NOL) and I am having soup. It’s Progresso Light soup while my staff has Five Guys burgers. Gotta get back on my diet. I bought and ate a whole box of Girl Scout Cookies :smack:
Still no network computers in my bldg today. just getting further and further behind.
N.O.L. has been consumed. Leftover kielbasa, cabbage, 'n onions from last night. That could be bad news later on. Well, not so much for me, but for anyone who comes in my orifice.
The irk week is winding down. I’m taking Friday off for an eye treatment and another doctor appointment, so one more day. Tonight, I bowl with the heathens.

The difference is where I put my quote, before or after your text. (Just use the square brackets instead of the curly brackets to ‘open’ the quote boxes- {what I put in blue or green})
…& with that, it’s N.O.L. time.
At 3:15, I called my spousal unit and reminded him we had an appointment in the Leonardtown Credit Union at 4. Yesterday, I reminded him of our appointment in Leonardtown. Before I even made the appointment, he asked me to make it in Leonardtown so he wouldn’t have to deal with base traffic.
I was in Leonardtown waiting for him. He went to the California office, then called me all concerned that I wasn’t there. Sometimes I think he doesn’t listen to me… :smack:
I love your Valentine’s coasters, FCM! They are so cute.
Believe it or not, we’re getting snow in Albuquerque too - probably not too much, though, 1-3 inches are predicted. It’s supposed to be two storms though, coming from East and West; it’s ABQ that is in an area where “probably” not much snow will fall to the ground. You know, folks here drive just as crazily as they did back in MD during snow. The ones in Michigan, though, should have known better than to drive too fast for weather conditions (the ones who were in the pileup near Battlecreek).
My friend Michele is, I think, making a “bucket list” tour. I am so sad for her, but happy, too, I guess, that she is able to do it. I believe she has gotten some extra time, but is not going to go through any more chemo. She is still very much in my thoughts and prayers. Please send out supportive thoughts to her, or whatever you believe in.
I’m always here, folks, lurking mostly. I say/do more on Facebook, don’t be afraid to ask who I am there, or ask practically anyone here.
