Hmm…
In The Cooler Maria Bello has a pair of die tattooed on her ass. Both dice show "2"s and they called that something. I’ll need to watch the movie again.
I should have said “hard four” or perharps “four hard”. It’s called that because it’s more difficult to get a four that way. As a result, the payout is also better if you place a Hardways 4 bet, 7:1.
A nitpick, but depending on one’s particular definition or profession, a pyramid can be defined as having a square or rectilinear base, and triangular faces, in which case a pyramid would have 5 sides.
Some definitions have anything with a polyganol base and triangular sides as a pyramid, so you could have an octagonal base with 8 faces and get a 9-sided solid.
So the D&D heel-awl would be a member of the greater pyramid family.
Thank you, you’ve people have come up with at least a dozen or so names for dice. Are there any other names for dominoes?
What are slang names for loaded or crooked dice?
Yes, dominoes- I’m refering to those wooden, ivory, or plastic tiles wiht dots on them.
I believe “ivories” is another term for dominoes. Are there any others?
Do you understand Spanish? If you do, there’s probably plenty of boards where Dominicans hang out and you could ask them. It’s a huge pastime in the DR and I see lots of guys here in NYC playing them. But in all the articles I’ve read about them they usually haven’t bothered to talk about nicknames to the dominoes themselves.
Here’s a page on the game from a dude from Puerto Rico. He uses the term ‘bones’ for them, like for dice. Dominoes seem to have been a variant of dice to begin with.
Well, in the movie (The Cooler) I have confirmed that the character refers to the two 2’s on her ass as “Little Joe” (also the name of her son).
