Has anyone tried sleep patches for insomnia? Opinions/reviews?
Can you link to one so we know what you’re talking about?
From your cite:
…Current evidence suggests that transdermal melatonin delivery is scientifically plausible, but more research is needed.
Researchers have explored various methods of delivering melatonin through the skin. Early studies indicate that transdermal systems may be capable of providing sustained melatonin levels for extended periods. This prolonged delivery may differ from oral melatonin, which is often absorbed more rapidly and cleared relatively quickly.
Recent advances in wearable technology, digital health monitoring, and sleep tracking devices have also increased interest in personalized sleep interventions and transdermal delivery systems.
However, many commercially available sleep patches have not been studied in large randomized controlled trials. As a result, consumers should be cautious about claims that suggest guaranteed outcomes…
So twice in that they say there isn’t an evidence base that transdermal sleep patches are effective.
Deep down, as of now that means they are slickly marketed woo. I’d advise your friend to save her money and instead concentrate on solid sleep hygiene and at most a melatonin tablet that has both immediate release and extended release melatonin.
I use melatonin, yes it works, especially good for us older adults.
