And now my husband is wondering why I’m laughing like Muttley.
Busy week and today was an attempt to wrangle tax papers for the accountants. Didn’t succeed yet, but I can try again tomorrow. At least I downloaded one of the forms.
I haven’t figured out how to do big-ass hoop earrings and masks. I think I should wear the big-ass hoop earrings at home when I don’t have to wear a mask, so at least I can get used to wearing them.
Easiest way, especially if you don’t have a microwave (we don’t) and don’t have space for a popcorn popper (we don’t). Didn’t know that dogs like popcorn.
sunny, I know a number of coworkers who’ve been to Costa Rica, one of them just last month. They all have good things to say about the place. One coworker was there at the beginning of the pandemic and hat to spend a pretty penny to get back to Switzerland.
I may have sent in an adoption application for a smol dog. We shall see what happens. I miss my cuddle buddy.
I guess I’m house shopping, which I must say is weird. I wasn’t really planning on moving right now. Hopefully, it’ll work out that we don’t actually move until the end of the school year.
I’m tired today. I’m hoping to just watch a movie with the family.
It was 40 something degrees at the park this morning. My phone said it was 47, my truck said it was 49.
I think it was closer to 40. I believed my phone and was underdressed for the weather.
I stayed over 2 hours, freezing my butt off. One of our group said she’d be there at 615 when she meant to say 645. Then another came late and I stayed with her.
Echo showed her ass with Dexter today. Kind of surprising as she knows him, and after being such a good girl the other day. Dexter is the prettiest dog, don’t know what he is. I think he has some St Bernard in him, his coloring, but he is a lighter build and has feathers on his legs. I love his floofy ears. When he opens his mouth though, he bays like a hound. It’s a surprise to hear that voice out of him.
I woke around 3, disturbing dreams, and never got back to sleep. I foresee a nap happening sometime today.
It looks like they finished the roof across the street, so no banging today.
More got cleaned out of the house next door last night. They don’t make a whole lot of noise, but sometimes just enough to get Ripple barking his fool head off.
When he jumps up at the front door, he’s not quite tall enough to see out the window at what is going on. He hears them going in and out but he can’t see them.
I couldn’t get warm after coming home, so I took a nice long bath. Then I gathered up all the dirty laundry. I left it at the top of the stairs for my son to carry down. Sometimes I just toss it down, but it’s too much.
My dogs love popcorn, especially Smart Foods white cheddar popcorn.
I knew someone who was moving to Belize, haven’t talked to him in years though. I thought about it myself at one time.
There’s a book called Freeways to Flip-Flops written by a family who moved there. It’s a short easy read.
I think your needlework is very pretty Unknown.
It’s after 4:00, I need to get some stuff done. Even though I don’t feel like it.
I woke around 5 for the same reason - for some reason I was threading yarn in bundles of short PVC pipe to make bombs. I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure pipe bombs use neither yarn nor PVC. But it was really upsetting, so I got up.
Back from the movies and early supper. The movie was OK - scenery was beautiful and the boat was really cool. I never read the book, so I don’t know how true to it Branagh stayed - he tends to add his own stuff. FCD wasn’t impressed. I got too confused too often and sometimes it felt like it dragged. I was mostly pissed off that it cost an extra $1.75/ticket to order online. Next time we’ll just go straight to the box office. Sheesh - paying for the privilege of not talking to a clerk? Whatever.
The living room is put back together. Shortly, I will feed Higgs, then assume the recliner for the evening.
Howdy Y’all! The guys (very young and made me wonder if’n I was breakin’ child labor laws!) came and got the back porch re-screened. I had no idea they would take off the old screen wire and put on the new screen wire in one day, but they did all that in about five hours. They will install the new door next Wednesday evenin’. We went to Newk’s and et an early sup and are now home (duh!) in chill and slacker/sloth mode. We got two brownies to go from Newk’s. I shall relish mine once tummy has digested more of sup.
MOOOOOOM the kind of average for the length of a Priest’s stay is five-six years. EYP has been here a little over four years, but is leavin’ cause he feels that Parish Ministry is not a good fit for him. I have a feelin’ he’ll end up in the Air Force Chaplaincy as he seems very interested in that. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. He ain’t dumb by no means. I hope he figures out what is a right fit for him.
Nameless looks like GG Cheese is a big hit!
shoe sorry you have to deal with asshat this evenin’. Good for you for tellin’ him off!
Nellie Whiskypalians and Luteruns have no problem with rum cake. I do have a little sign to let folks know the cake contains alcohol, however. I’m all nice like that.
Just read a wiki summary of Agatha Christie’s book - the movie was loosely based on it, so if you expect it to be a close match, you’ll be disappointed. FYI.
Remember that Lowe’s Style Selection patio heater I was talking about last Fall? The one where the screen melted? (Pics in the Review in the link.) Well…
I’d told Wifey about those strings of ‘naked bulb’ LED patio lights at Costco for $50. I was going to Costco today for some wine, and she said those lights would make a nice Valentine’s Day present. I agreed. Then she said I should look at patio heaters. She hates going to Costco. Walking makes her back hurt. But I said she should come with me. She agreed.
So we went and picked up the wine, ,then went to get ths lights. The heaters were right there by the lights, in the Patio section. I pointed the one style they had and said, ‘It’s on sale.’ She said, ‘Get one.’
So we have a new patio heater. It will be easier for her to change the tank by herself, as the cover lifts off instead of having a hatch. She peeled the shrink-wrap from the reflector panels, and I put the rest together. She left for the hardware store to get hooks for the lights, and I put the reflector on, put the valve on, put a tank in, and fired it up. Unlike the first heater (before the one in the link in the first paragraph), it stayed lit. We hope that unlike the second one (and its replacement screen – which, by the way also melted) that this heater doesn’t melt.
ETA: In addition to the lights for V-Day, I got her the heater too. Thirty dollars off, it was only $120.
nellie, when you’re done playing at decorating, you still have cake. Win / win!
Glad you told the idiot off shoe. Taking care of your team is the mark of a good leader.
Hope that you find a new little cuddle buddy sunny.
Messed around in the studio most of the day, then went to Staples to exchange a CO2 cartridge and pick up a couple of small items. One of the things that I went there for were some small, sticky dots to track the usage of certain tools in the studio. Those guys wanted $9 for a pack of 820 of them! I wasn’t going to pay that for them, given that they didn’t have to be round, just a minimum of four colors and small, so I went to the teacher’s section and picked up a package of 960 foil stars in four colors for under $3. Cook Out fixed a stoner supper.
Last night, when I took Nelson out before bed, it was the time of night that all of my neighbors had their doggos out too, so Nelson got to see all of his girlfriends and began to get acquainted with the new guy two doors down (a Belgian malinois named Jim). Nelson gets along well with everyone else, but he tends to cop an attitude with large, intact males until he gets to know them (Jim’s easily 90#). He’s not super comfortable with him yet, but he’s not copping a Napoleon on him either. Fortunately, Jim is a gentleman.
I hope your days continue to get better, your imaginary interwebz friends have been worried too!
Ravens are solitary enough to attach themselves to a human, crows are flock birds so unless a human manages to get a chick to raise, they will attach themselves to their flock.
Oden is famously known for the raven on his right shoulder. He’s also missing his right eye. Just something to think about before adopting a crow or raven…
I am totally jealous of your sister. I’m OK at IDing birds and really enjoy our desert birds. I saw a Stellar Jay at our feeder yesterday which was pretty cool. They usually hang out higher up the mountain. Sometimes I’ll see a Cardinal which is pretty cool because they usually hang out lower down the mountain.
Practice helps a bunch and good on you for standing up for your crew. You are doing great, keep it up!!!
Thank you all for the reassurance, GG is just too cute to not overshare with the world!
Mom gave me some wonderful patterns, the one I’m working now will go in our bedroom, the next one doesn’t have a home but it looks like a lot of fun to do.
One of the things about dogs that I always enjoy is that they enjoy their food. Cats can be so picky sometimes.
Thanks, your praise is much appreciated. People are so interesting, IMHO crocheting is too complicated because you have to count without working on a grid for visual confirmation that you know how to count. Of course you know how to count to five, I sometimes have issues.
Quite frankly, I thought it was really funny. Our little local eight table diner has pretensions to greatness. Private creamery indeed, LOL!!!
Evening all. Soccer occupied my time today from 9am-5pm. Coached 3 games, refereed 2 and watched a couple in-between. Came home and nuked some fettuchini so my appetite has been dealt with. Expect I’ll turn in early tonight…we’ll see.
Temperature is down to 36F and supposed to get as low as 22F tonight. Have to figure out tomorrow as I want to go exercise at the gym, dine out, and watch the Stupor Bowl with a big Bag of Lay’s chips–so some planning is needed.
Well done shoe; very well done.
Flyboy, better luck this time with the patio heater.
FCM, make sure FCD doesn’t blow the refund check on wild partying… Haven’t been in a Movie theatre since the plague began, next picture I’ll probably go to see is in June (the next Jurassic Park)
Sari, I’m with your dogs, I love Smart Foods White Cheddar popcorn too.
Sunny, I hope things work out and you get a new cuddle buddy soon.
Seanette, I’ve always wanted to try Jollibee, but there is no locations within 400 miles, so I guess I’ll have to wait (the Whataburger is about 70% complete, however).
doggio, so getting some extra cash for doing what you’re going to do anyway? Sweet.
All y’all can have all the hugs, tears and 'attaboys/girls" your hearts desire. Take care now.
Just a little friendly reminder to everyone out there… don’t refill your pepper mill after a couple of adult beverages. I only lost 4 corns to the floor, but several went fleeing across on the countertop.
The last time I did that, they landed on the floor and Nelson thought they were doggy edibles. It only took putting one into his mouth before he spit it out and left the others for me to sweep.
