I scoured the website for this question, but it doesn’t seem as if it’s ever been asked. This may possibly be because I am the only person in the world who experiences this sensation.
On occasion, when I lay down to bed, I am distracted by the feeling of a small insect crawling fairly rapidly up my body. It’s almost like an itch traveling up (it’s always up) my leg, my torso, my arm, etc. At first, I would turn on the light and examine myself to see if there really was anything there. There never was. I would also take to putting a finger a little ways up the path of the itch to see if something would touch my finger. Nothing did. I queried my mom, and she said this occasionally happened to her as well, but I’m almost certain she’s just patronizing my very strange fear. And I’m certainly not going to ask my friends about this.
Does anyone have a physiological explanation? Or are there really tiny bugs crawling all over me in the middle of the night (yes, I know I’ve got mites and the like, but I don’t think they’re large enough to produce these rapidly-traveling sensations). This has been bugging me for quite some time now (bad pun). Thanks a bunch for any help I might get.
