Sleepy Hollow

I thought this was a thoroughly satisfying episode. The haunted house part was genuinely creepy and unpredictable, and the idea that Ichabod had a son leads to all sorts of interesting potential long term stuff, without being immediately frustrating to not have an answer to.

Too damn dark. You could get motion sickness watching the mad running around the haunted house. Too many times we’d have to rewind someone saying something and after about three times still couldn’t figure out what she said. The detective’s wife was a first class bitch. He should definitely start banging Abby’s sister.

Then she would get all his money instead of half.

With Ichabod’s clothes all torn and bloody…maybe he’ll get a current outfit!

He does seem to have mislaid his coat.

Don’t tease me like that. I’ve already resigned myself to staring at the ridiculous costume all season. If they change it now, I’m not sure I’ll be able to recover.

The Little Rich Bitch had it on and apparently didn’t give it back.

I sooooooo want Captain Irving to turn out to be Ichy’s G-g-g-g-Grandson. Their eyes are kinda similar. . .

After the rant about Sally Hemings in a previous episode, that would be just perfect. I can see Irving calling him gramps, grampa, peepaw . . .

Ooh, wait. Remember when officer jealous-pants called Oxford? Maybe Prof I. Crane who they confirmed was actually Ichy’s descendent?

he mended it! i couldn’t believe it!

And is also in the United States?
That could be awkward.

Anyone else think they’re having trouble keeping Ichy’s beard looking the same? In one scene this week his beard looked thicker and darker. Abby’s hair looked slightly different too.

I like how little things we’ve seen briefly in prior episodes have some meaning in later episodes. It’s reassuring that they’re not making things up on the fly.

Loved the golem, but in my readings about golems, they don’t have emotions and can’t be reasoned with. But if these writers want a golem 2.0, I’m fine with it. It was sad when he died.

Are we to believe that Jeremy is forever-dead? The witches said they “stopped his heart”.

Those 4 witches were awesome! Love the teeth, the eyes, their overall creepiness, the way they talked.

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Jeremy. They said they stopped his heart- I didn’t hear that he was really dead.

Why does this show come on so late? Firstly, that was a shitty doll Katrina made. I guess she didn’t do too well in needlework class. Secondly, what a tease with the mistletoe, eh? And mostly,

What happened with Irving and his daughter and the spirit that kept passing from people giving Irving bad tidings? I kept falling asleep and waking up and missing stuff.

It was a clue that the librarian was a witch. But the tease part? Yep. That’s the main area where the show keeps us guessing. There’s chemistry between Ichy and Abby, but behind that is the possibility that Katrina will be rescued from purgatory and reunite with Ichy.

I liked the doll. It was just the primitive kind of thing a witch would make, and maybe Katrina knew what might happen.

I think the spirit said something about Irving’s soul, or his daughter’s soul. It wasn’t too clear. That subplot’s a waste of time though – nothing’s gonna happen to Irving or his daughter – nothing permanent anyway.

I wanted Irving to tell the priest what’s been happening, to see his reaction.

Thanks Auntie.
Oh yeah, Jeremy’s coming back. And I don’t think he’ll be a happy camper. Also, do you thnk Mordor (or whatever his name is) is gonna make Icky choose between saving either Katrina or Abbie’s soul some how?

I believe it was the io9 recap of the episode that said Jeremy is too chiseled and angsty to be permanently dead. I agree. We’ll see him again.

The bit with the spirit/captain was letting him know that

a) they have a plan (where have I heard that one before)
b) that the 2 witnesses were going to die

its dovetailing his ‘I dont have a family’ story and possibly being used to discredit him as a police officer, etc.

Right now, that part is an ‘aside’ - I think as the story progresses, it will get better.

and BobLibDem - we said the exact same things.

Some thoughts on last night’s episode:

Orlando Jones is a terrible actor.
Why didn’t we get a little eye-candy when Icky was trying out new clothes?
The possessed scared the crap out of me.
What, George Washington can’t write a date in the future? That didn’t make any sense.

Loved this episode even though it scared me, there was no bare-chested Icky, Orlando sucked and the end didn’t make any sense. Go figure.
