Slide show program for my iMac?

OK, so I have a 150 digital pictures on my iMac from my trip to Europe. Rather than clicking each picture individually to show them, is there some sort of slide show program I can use to show them? Many years ago, some jpeg viewer I used on an early Mac had setting like “show each picture in a this folder for 10 seconds.” That was great. Is there (free?) software that can do that on an iMac?

I still use JPEGView, even though it’s old old old - haven’t found anything better.
It’s not on download.com anymore, but you can find it easily enough Googling.

You can download JPEGview here. It displays lots of formats besides JPEGs, and has a nifty highly configurable slideshow feature.

PowerPoint will also work well.

GraphicConverter can do a slide show, and it’s a more modern program than JPEGview. It’s shareware, so you can download it and find out if you like it. GC has tons of features; it’s probably second only to Photoshop in terms of its usefulness. Give it a whirl.

Are you suggesting he/she spends $400 on MS Office to do a slide show? Mr. Gates, is that you? :wink:

KXL, are you on OS9 or OSX? There are many programs that do slideshows for both, many of them freeware. If you’re on OSX, Apple’s free iPhoto will do the job very nicely.

Here are some for OSX, and here are some for OS9. And that’s just entering ‘slideshow’ into the search; many other graphic viewing programs will also do slideshows as auxillary functions. Browse around VersionTracker, the site I linked to. You’ll find plenty of programs that do what you want. As has been mentioned, GraphicConverter is great, but it’s around $30, I think, and while well worth the money, it’s out of your ‘free’ category.

Another vote for GraphicConverter. I regard a Mac without GraphicConverter to be fundamentally incomplete, kind of like a Mac without BBEdit or lace-up shoes without shoelaces.

Also, in OSX, the OS itself will do this. You can build a screensaver to display the images in a Folder, or you can use the Desktop itself to display a rotating set of images.
