I don’t know if this is done here, but if not, I’d like to introduce a gift exchange. A virtual one, which means you can literally, if virtually, gift anyone with anyTHING. If it’s really out there with a link somewhere, even better!
The game gets fun when people know each other, or know the stereotypes that have built up over the years, well enough to get them something particularly apropos.
As I’m still a newbie, I’m going to just hang this little chess set~~ on the wall of the clubhouse in case anyone wants to play. I don’t know where this club-house is, but I imagine it’s easily reachable by any Doper, and the grounds are likely quite extensive; I know for sure there’s a stable out there, a golf course, a racing track…lots of room for gifts and their enjoyment.
So if anyone wants to gift another Doper, or the whole gang in general, with something humorous/neat/interesting/ego-puncturing/stroking, I think there’s room for it.
<sticks lifelong SMDB subscriptions into the multitude of stockings hanging around the cavernous fireplace>
One is swampbear. He gets Guinness beer, and chocolate chip cookies. The other item he likes he has to find on his own!
Then there’s twickster, my “twin”(We’re exactly the same age!) I’ll get her a pair of heavy boots, the better to mod with, and a donation to the Humane Society, in memory of my previous dog. BTW, Nathan, my current dog and I, we just celebrated our first anniversary!
Thanks, sis! Glad you and Nathan are doing so well – Zebulon and Jezebel send their greetings to him. (That’s how you can tell us twins apart – she’s the dog twin and I’m the cat twin.)
Hm, I’m going to have to think about who I’m going to gift – can’t have a mod playing favorites, now, can we? – but let’s start with buffs for all my fellow Survivor fans.
I haven’t been here long enough to make good friends. I’ll just stand awkwardly by the food table and scarf down all the bourbon balls and egg nog. It does have rum in it, right?
From above spoiler: “No, it ain’t quite Michelle Obama, but close enough”
Now I’m having second thoughts about having written that. I meant “close enough”, apparently, for Mr. Sensenbrenner’s inclinations. This wasn’t meant to reflect MY notion of Mrs. Obama, who I think is a lovely and gracious lady. Hey, even Queen Elizabeth agrees with that!
