Okay, new smurf movie. Palin says they’re illegal immigrants, Obama says let them in, and meanwhile no one notices because they’re watching the Sheen vs. Gaddafi debates. What they do when they get here can be left to the imagination.

It did not ruin my childhood. The Smurfs were perfect in appearance. The casting was fun. The plot was no sillier than an episode of Smurfs. Gargamel was a little bit over the top, but that was probably the best direction they could go with that. I don’t know that I would have brought them into modern times, but given that choice they did a pretty good job of it. I hope the sequel stays in medieval Belgium though.
