A Smurf movie is set for a 2008 release!!!

A 3-D, CGI-animated Smurfs feature film will bow in theaters in 2008, Daily Variety reported Tuesday. The extravaganza from Paramount’s Nickelodeon Movies will be the first in a planned trilogy, it said. According to Newsweek, the project has been trying to get off the ground since at least 2003.

She was sent in as Gargamel’s evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village, but the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. I remember the episode where Smurfette was created. (No, I’m not proud of this fact. Just sayin’) The other Smurfs all fell in love with her and were trying to impress her. They’ve got to be male.

Maybe Gargamel captured all the women and… er… did whatever evil thing he had planned for the Smurfs. (What was Gargamel going to do after he caught the Smurfs, anyway?)
