Plain old potato chips - My chip of choice used to be Simply Lays Thick Cut Sea Salt. But sadly they aren’t sold in my area anymore. Regular Lays have a good flavor but I hate that the chips always seem to be really small. So I’ve been eating Walmart’s Great Value potato chips and they’re great (but still not my Simply Lays!).
My other addiction is Reese’s Dark Thins - OMG for some reason the chocolate on these tastes so rich and creamy and there is the perfect ratio of peanut butter to chocolate. I tried the dark chocolate miniature peanut butter cups, but they tasted awful - very waxy.
The best thing about Bugles when you’re a kid is not how they taste, but putting them on the ends of your fingers and pretending you’re a monster with hideous claw-hands.
I opened the thread just to mention those exact peanuts, the sriracha ranch. I order them regularly direct from the company, and am currently having some with my lunch.
Was looking for the Cheez-its. White Cheddar is where it’s at. Me and Annatto do not get along, so I tend towards the white cheddar rather than the standard. I can go through a bag of CHEETOS® Simply Puffs White Cheddar Cheese Flavored Snacks pretty darn fast as well.
They’re basically like a chip version of a Frito Pie. So if you like those, you’ll probably like Chili Cheese Fritos.
Fresca isn’t/wasn’t that bad; it’s basically the diet equivalent of Squirt or one of the other grapefruit sodas. I like it just fine. Tab, however, is one that I’ve never understood how it hung on like some sort of soft-drink coelacanth. I mean, it was good enough in 1979 when it was all there was in the diet cola arena. But I’d have thought Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi would have killed it stone dead sometime in the last 40 years.
Along with chili cheese Fritos, my favorite snack crackers are Chicken In A Biskit. They’re good by themselves and pair well with crab or artichoke/spinach dips. I really like them with provolone and salami.
Somebody brought a big bag of these in to work a while back. They don’t look like much, and in fact they’re somewhat dry. But somehow they hit just the right spot when I want a little nosh at break time. Just enough filling to give them a nice flavor, not enough to be messy. I was having one or two every day until they ran out - then I pitched in to replenish the supply. They’re really not that good - but they’re perfect.
They’re a handy size, tastier than they ought to be and don’t leave much in the way of crumbs. And compared to typical brand name cookies, they’re barely 1/3rd the price.
So while in the OP I mention that the Goldfish are addictive as hell for me, but I never find myself actually craving them before I grab a handful, the one snack that I do crave, and becomes a problem once I start eating are Himalayan sea salt thick cut crinkle chips, specifically the Kirkland brand. The bag is huge and the chips are too. Those are like crack to me.
I like Fresca, and used to drink it regularly. Unfortunately, if you take atorvastatin, which I do, you’re supposed to avoid grapefruit or anything containing grapefruit juice.
The news media has given some attention to pandemic-related Fresca shortages.
Now I’ve just discovered Birdseye french fried zucchini, shoestring or crinkle I can’t stop eating. And, always another, Harvest Snaps green pea like green Cheeto puffs.
Oh and edamame in the shell. Mike it, then suck out the beans from the salty watery pod. Can’t stop won’t stop.
