Those are fantastic! Darn hard to hold myself back to the tiny serving that’s my limit these days.
I’ve not eaten conventional Fritos in some years, but in addition to the flavoring these chips are much thinner than I recall Fritos being. A little narrower too. Both of which are an improvement over the rather clunky traditional Frito.
Yep, and they’re not even really that good as salty, crunchy snack foods go. But for some reason, they’re weirdly addictive, and I end up eating way too many of them in a sitting.
Did someone mention Cheetos? The crunchy (not puffy) ones? Mmm, Cheetos!
I’ve cut way back on my junk food consumption now that I’m old and don’t have the roaring metabolism of my youth. As a result of corrupting my taste buds with nothing but real food, I have found that most junk foods have lost their appeal when I do eat them. I used to love Fritos but of late, on the rare occasions I indulge, they aren’t nearly as luscious as I remember.
But Cheetos? Oh yeah baby. Those are every bit as addictive as ever. I buy a bag four or five times/year and each time I eat the whole bag in 48 hours or so.
Also a big fan of its more refined cousin, Snyder’s pretzel sandwiches (stuffed with cheese filling). Once I start a bag I can’t stop until it’s all gone. I am shocked every time.
I was thrilled when I could find them in the stores, after having them on the plane. And then the department assistant started buying them by the case for the training classes. There were leftovers. They were everywhere.
You’re the 11th post to mention Cheetos. And yes, the consensus is totally in favor of the crunchy, not puffy, ones.
My local store in FL has a bunch of other Frito flavors too; I actually had some trouble picking the chili cheese ones out of the distracting rest. Maybe next week one of those other flavors gets a try too.
I’m not sure there is such a thing as an “inappropriate” amount of CB&C. Unless it’s inappropriately too small. I can power through a mighty pile of that stuff. If you can still walk you haven’t had enough. But beware the waffer thin mint afterwards.
TWA had them back in the day and American did right up through the start of COVID. And probably will have them again post-COVID. I don’t deal with United or JetBlue enough to know if they had them recently.
