Snake dreams

Reading the thread about drug (Zoloft, etc) induced crazy dreams, I was thinking back to last night’s dream I had, where I stumbled upon several very large snakes (rattlers, cobras, etc) in my yard while walking to the car, which then morphed into a few of them coiled and raised surrounding my car so I couldn’t get to it, and my girlfriend was trapped inside, morphing to me being in my parents kitchen with a small snake biting and holding onto my arm that I couldn’t shake off.

Very realistic and terrifying, I awoke with a start.

But the thing is, I dream of snakes a lot. Usually at least once a week I have a dream that includes a snake somehow, and sometimes several over a few nights. This has been going on for years. Everything from similar dreams to the above, to really cartoonish ones with giant silly snakes the size of buildings, to a random snake briefly working its way briefly into an otherwise unrelated plot.

I am not much for dream symbolism or anything, but I really am starting to feel like my subconscious mind is trying to tell me something here, and I can’t figure out what it is.

Sometimes a snake is just a snake.

I came in to say something like that, but this is funnier!

Honestly, that’s what dream-snakes always symbolized to me. Lucky you.

Actually, brujaja’s dream snakes are the manifestation of his/her sexual inadequacy.

But the cigars they’re smoking are just cigars.

Are they riding on trains - through tunnels - with your Mom?

It probably means nothing.

“I’ve had it with these motherfuckin’ snakes in this motherfuckin’ dream!”

Come on, you know someone was going to say it.

Nope. Really don’t think its a sexual thing. Most of the time I am very frightened and they are very threatening in the dream. Most obvious is that I am anxious or nervous or worried about something, but I can’t really think of what it could be, as I don’t really have any major problems in life, just mundane day to day concerns.

How big’s yer penis?

Well, dream analysis isnt really my thing but just for fun here’s some info:

To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can’t be trusted.

To dream that you are scared, indicates that you are experiencing self-doubt and feelings of incompetence. You may be feeling a lack of control. Anger often masquerades as fear, so also consider issues about which you are angry about in your waking life.

Parked car: choice of roles or attitudes

To see a kitchen in your dream, signifies your need for warmth and spiritual nourishment. It may also be symbolic of the nurturing mother. Alternatively the kitchen, represents a transformation

Things to do to break it down:
Identify the main “theme” or “concept” of the dream
Match the Theme or Concept to a specific area of your life

details of a dream (feelings, colors, etc) can be very important when analyzing.

Just piecing it together with no more information I would say you have some unresolved anger towards someone - mom? gf? - and you feel trapped. Either the Mom doesnt like the gf or vice versa? Someone is putting on a front and not showing their true colors until you are deep in a relationship and may feel even more trapped. I would be curious as to how your gf was reacting to being trapped in the car - calm? scared? unaware?

Really really hard to say without more information. And I suck at this kind of thing.

oh! I know! think about whats really on your mind (with a specific question) and I’ll pull my cards out.
