I took your word for it and did not search.
However. I have MANY years of Herpetoculter and consider myself an amateur herpetologist if there is such a thing.
I’ve never heard of a “Butter Snake” but it could be colloquial in a particular region for a common snake. That happens a lot.
BTW i’m curious is there is some sort of “legend” surrounding where you got this name.
Sounds like a “hoop snake” sort of legend… or Milk snakes sucking the cows udders dry.
