Sneaky Christmas List Ideas?

I’d like to give my fiance a clue as to what things I would like as presents. This Christmas I got a bunch of gifts…that he would like (read: computer parts, how unsexy). I don’t know how to give him a list of future gift ideas without him being offended. Should I create a file on his desktop with a list? Bury it in his next meal? Write it on the toilet paper roll?

Oooh, that’s a good question!

Here’s a weird way of doing it:
Record his favorite channel one day. Preferably fill up one whole Very-High-Standard tape, and pick a day he watches w/o changing the channels.

Now, hope that your product is in a commercial. Commercials are in 30 second incriments so… you can replace a whole bunch of the commercials on the VHS tape with what you want.

The next week… if you recorded Monday Night SciFi for instance, put the tape in on Monday, same time you started the recording and then just leave it running. Turn on the TV when he gets home, and hope to God he doesn’t try changing the channel (or notice they are all reruns.

(Then do the other suggestions you get, too)

Well, it wasn’t that sneaky, but I was IMing with my friend one day. She was stressing that she really wanted a KitchenAid mixer, and we were discussing colors and models and whatnot. So I called her husband. He said he was already going to get her one, but I straightened him out on the color. And she was very happy with the present, and acted very surprised.

The sneaky part was that she knew I was calling him; even gave me a good time to do it. He doesn’t know that part, but what the heck, he liked the help anyway.

Great ideas guys! Thanks. I figure if I implement them all at once, he’ll get the idea.

For his birthday in March I am planning on wrapping the presents he gave me (the ones he really wanted himself) and give them back to him.

Cool Beans!

I have kids, so I use the kid route.
If I see something I like and I know it won’t be around for long, I buy it and have my mom help the kids wrap it. If it’s something that is not likely to be gone right away, I drop hints to the kids and it gets back to hubby dear.
I know, its awful, but it works.
