I watched the entire thing in a few days, but like the first one the final climax con seems to make no sense and relied on supernatural abilities of prediction to avoid everybody being killed. The casino heist, even though a complete distraction also went so flawlessly despite hundreds of red flags that you’ve got to assume the casino is being ripped off by hustlers constantly, as their security was so shit.
How did the $100 bills turning into $1 work? Who had the means, motive or opportunity to do that? Somebody somehow got $110,000 worth of $1 bills and traded them for $11 million of $100 bills, taking them out of the boxes and labouriously putting them back where they came from. Who had time, why, and why not just use worthless paper if they still needed to create the impression of $100 bills?
Real Pete is screwed still right? They’re going to realise he’s out and escaped eventually, Pete and the warden will both get it in the neck.
Bumping this as when I first posted it had been out for 2 days, it’s now been available for 2 weeks.
I watched the first season and to be honest I kind of forgot what the plot was. I was a little bit lost through most of this season, too. But I do like the characters and I even liked the character of Maggie.
The last few episodes were pretty fun and I was really glued to them. A nice heist story with double-crossing. Leading up to that was kind of ho-hum.
I agree that the swapping out of the money was the least plausible part of all the un-plausible parts. BUT if that hadn’t happened there’d probably be no season 3 (is there a season 3?) If Marius had his cut of $11mm he’d be gonzo.
I was trying to put my Amazon Prime membership to good use, and stumbled into this one on Thursday night. I just finished both seasons, and in my opinion I thought it was very “bingeable”, though I enjoyed the first season more than the second.
The casting was great (Giovanni Ribisi played basically the same exact character he played in ‘Boiler Room’, if that movie happens to also be one of your guilty pleasures). Lots of actors/actresses that I wasn’t familiar with, although from looking at IMDB it seems most of them have pretty healthy resumes.
I’d definitely recommend it if you like the “con / caper”-type of shows and movies.
