I got to my physio appointment today, and felt the need to sneeze. My therapist passed me a kleenex and then watched me with the most worried look on her face; she was deeply concerned that I’d injure my back again! Turns out it was a nice little gentle sneeze (well, three of them), and I haven’t had a painful once since the morning before I ended up in the hospital, but it was so funny to see her concern!
Ah. You have amsneezia.
I find sneezing pleasant only in that it removes the irritation that caused the need to sneeze in the first place. And it never works if I’m actually sick, as then I’m clogged up and it hurts like hell. Imagine sticking a pressurized hose up your nose, and closing off eveything else. You feel like your sinuses are going to burst.
I will sometimes sneeze twenty times in a row. It’s happened while driving too. So. Fucking. Annoying.
Sometimes, my muscles get sore from the sneezing too.
I knew someone who made quacking noises while sneezing. The first few times I head it, I’d look around to see if there was a loose duck somewhere in the neighborhood/city.
The wifey is a marathon sneezer. On top of which, they’re at a volume than can knock birds out of trees. I’ve never heard anything like it and usually have to leave the room when she gets going.
