*sniff* All my co-workers went to lunch without me!

Damn you, you stole my joke!

Well, I bitched and moaned about it today – well, okay another co-worker who missed out (turn out there were three of us) bitched and moaned. We got blank stares and someone just said “well, there weren’t any invites. Anyone who wanted to go just went!” Er, okay. But if people don’t even know about it, how can they “just go if they want to?”

Grrr. Just walk across the hall and stick your head in our side of the office – problem solved.

On a brighter note, I really didn’t want the very new employee to feel snubbed so a co-worker and I took her out for lunch. It was fun. She’s from Hong Kong and she struggles with English. My other co-worker is from France and struggles with English. I speak French and English, so whenever there was a serious communication breakdown, I’d at least be able to fill in some of the blanks.

It was a little awkward sorting out the languages, but that made it fun.

i can just hear all of you saying: " sorry, company, i have to go to nebraska for lunch, (oh, didn’t you get the invite? ). i’ll be back tomorrow."

there are some good steak houses in nebraska…

If I may pop in a day late and a dollar short… I totally understand. I’m always being left out of lunchtime doings when others decide to order out.

And to top it off, not once but twice have I been killed whilst on duty. The first time was during a mock chemical spill in the lab, no one told me anything back where I was working, just took off and evacuated themselves. I, of course, kept on working and was consumed by the supposed chemical cloud. The second time was a fire drill, same results. Sigh.

It’s so nice to be loved so much at your workplace.

dwyr ,

Perhaps we should start a support group for people who were left behind during drills. :p: No pun intended, of course…

We could organize during the big lunch which is being planned!
