Victoria Jackson was interviewed on the red carpet:
She claims that she was shunted to an overflow room, the only person who was once in the cast to be put in that room, and that it was because of her politics:It was a Taylor guitar, don’t know which model (and I think the top might have been koa?)
I noticed that about Palin, too! I am by no means a style critic but that dress seemed very “off” to me. You helped explain why
“The Californians” was funnier when Monty Python did it.
I didn’t remember the dress, but looking it up on Google I noticed she was sitting next to Taylor Swift, who was sitting next to Steven Spielberg.
We recorded it last night and watched it this afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed it; there were a few moments I could have done without, but overall it was much better than I was expecting.
Christopher Walken was on stage at one point, introducing someone…I don’t recall who, but he was definitely there.

She claims that she was shunted to an overflow room, the only person who was once in the cast to be put in that room, and that it was because of her politics: [/QUOTE]I actually looked at VJ’s Twitter and she was pretty calm about the whole thing, saying that she was there and had a good time and was interviewed by some outfit (Extra? inside Edition?) and hoped they wouldn’t sensationalize it.
Frankly, I mainly remember VJ as the seemingly token ditzy female at the time rather than any specific roles she ever played. Looking back, she wasn’t particularly funny and I only remember her because she’s who was on when I was a kid.
I think it was Kanye West, and he pronounced his name like “Can Ye”.
Oh right, I remember that now.
What’s up with that dude’s eyes?
Who, Can Yee or Mr. Walken?
Hands down the funniest part of the show for me. Such a simple idea but Murray really delivered. Hilarious.
In general, I can take or leave Kanye and his ego. I really had to give him props for this show, though. From getting manhandled by Matt Lauer just a few seconds to the opening, then the manhandling he took during the Wayne’s World sketch, he laughed all of it off like a normal person during a comedy show. I honestly didn’t expect him to stay good natured through it all. As to his performance, I thought it was good, something I would expect from him and too bad he didn’t bring it like that to the Grammy’s the week before.
But did you catch the mention that it’s her daughter Bristol’s dress from the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner?
Overall, I enjoyed the show!

Everybody as sober as a Supreme Court justice.

Paul was just sad.

Damn, I miss Gilda.

When did Taylor Swift become an adult, and a stone fox?
I have to confess that I enjoyed “The Californians”. They pretty much nailed it.
Kanye. Did he have blue contacts or has he done something bizarre to himself besides the teeth?
I saw a headline about Kim and Kanye playing with blue contacts.
Which Paul? I thought McCartney looked and sounded okay for his age. So did Paul Simon, except that he looks like a hobbit.
I didn’t, because I didn’t know what they were trying to nail.
I thought I noticed something weird about his peepers too but wan’t sure if it was the lighting or what. Dude, it does *not *work as an enhancement.
It was an over the top spoof on the way a lot of west coasters talk. All the references to “the 10, the 405”, etc. is how freeways are referred to in SoCal. The weird pronunciation of words like “thaht” instead of “that” is noticeable (and annoying) even here in Oregon. They just did it to the point where they were nearly unintelligible, which I found amusing, along with the self-absorption.
