OK, that’s just…idiotic.
I thought NBC gave them permission to carry it?

Oops, sorry, nevermind.

I’m only telling you what I saw when I tried to run two of the you-tube videos. If there was some other reason the “NBC has withdrawn permission” notice would appear that has noting to do NBC changing it’s mind I don’t know what that would be. As of right now all the vids seem to be playing. Maybe it was a temporary glitch.
My understanding of the article to which you linked is that NBC has requested the removal of the copies it didn’t officially put on YouTube; that is, any fan-copied version may be pulled at NBC’s insistence, but the one (or more than one) that NBC uploaded will stay (until NBC changes its mind).
Thanks for posting this. Now Mr. Athena is running around the house singing “My dick in a box!” in his best falsetto.
Yup, gonna be a fuuuuun Christmas.
Sorry… that was the cut version. :o
Right. Here’s the link to the uncensored version put up by NBC.
Well, this is a bit embarassing. I spent my teens making fun of Justin for being in a boy band and now I think he’s converted me. That was definitely one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. And catchy, too! My brother and I have spent a cheery Christmas randomly singing lines from it to each other.
I can’t get it out of my head.
A day later, I’m still thinking “EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY A DICK IN A BOX!!!”
Oh, please tell me I’m not the only person who, on the first hearing of the “dick in a box” line, thought they meant cut it off.
Well, since the image accompanying the line is a box held about waist high, it never crossed my mind.
(Mid day at the grocery store… dick in a box)
OK…thanks. Now I have the song, “Dick In The Box” stuck in my brain on Christmas Day…I am damned to hell.
I have to admit, finding “cut” and “uncut” versions of “Dick In The Box” seems to take on a whole lot of connotations.
Is it normal for “dick” to be censored on TV over there? (I was expecting something a bit more profane, like “cunt” or something.)
“Over at her parents’ house, a dick in a box.”
*Step two: put your junk in the box. *
This song is awesome.
I think “dick” is generally censored on TV. When I originally saw the censored version on TV, though, I assumed it was “Cock in a Box,” just for the euphony of it.
An IMDB article implied there was reticence on the part of NBC to release it uncensored in the first place, as they did not want profanity associated with NBC or something like that, so maybe they had second thoughts?
