Snorers/Sleep Apnea Patients: The Sleep Angel

I’ve also used both Snore-Enz and “no snore” homeopathic treatments for snoring, and found that those seem to open up my throat. I use them in combination with the “Breath easy” tape type nose openers, like football players wear, (though I like the store brand from Longs drugs much better than the national brand name)
The combination of the two seems to diminish my snoring a lot, but, even more so, I notice I wake more rested.
Seemingly I’m not quite up to CPAP levels, or just too stubborn to go get tested…

Have also found that studies have shown the "most restfull’ position for the all the body’s systems is, on you back, with your knees elevated on a pillow, and just a small round pillow or rolled towel under your neck.

Haven’t been able to sleep the whole night in that pose, but working on it.

speaking of bedtime…

For the folks with mild apnea, have you changed your allergy medication reciently?

I’d been on Claritin for three+ years and (in retrospect) discovered it wasn’t getting the job done.

Changing over to Zyrtec D made me snore less (by a good margin), which let me sleep better, which greatly improved my stress levels. Which was good, as the only option my ENT gave me was a $600 surgery that was cosmetic (not covered by insurance) and ‘almost always works the second time’.

Unfortunately, now that Claritin is an over the counter drug, my insurance is doing it’s damndest to keep from paying for allergy medication of any kind. It’s getting expensive enough that just paying for treat the allergies would be the long term cheapest thing to do.
